Don’t politicise it though. You just want to bash the Tories.

To be fair (and I am no Trump fan) he was actually saying how courageous the doctors and nurses are and not that it’s ‘beautiful’ to see them die. You can see why he goes on about fake news?

Newsnight quoted a senior Tory? <doh> I’m am actually hearing that people are calling him ‘slimy’. Which by the way was coined by me so I should have patented it.:1980_boogie_down:

Well they have to get unattributed quotes because no one from the government is allowed to actually take part in the programme.

Cant blame them for hiding. They just tangle themselves up in the mess theyve helped create. Quite embarrassing really.

So it could and probably is rubbish.
I think most people realise that there is a concerted effort to keep attacking the government. Even some of the commentators are staring to mention this. (Took their time as I and others have noticed it for some time). It’s is a planned attack from the left who can’t get over Brexit and the election. It will fail because the majority of us don’t waste our time daily knocking the government but try to get on with life. Good luck with all the moaning because it won’t change many peoples minds.

It could be that. It could be that they deserve stick over their abysmal performance.

Probably just the tears of bitter Remainers who want you to think our tens of thousands of deaths is a bigger problem than it is, on balance.

Asking the government to account for their actions is not attacking them.

No but all the daily attacks are unnecessary and believe me people are noticing. It will backfire as well. Yes they have made some mistakes but this whole thing is unprecedented and changes daily. What is not needed in these times are lefty idiots (not on here) Making up ill-informed rubbish and putting it out on social media.
Lord Hessletine was correct when he said “the people calling for relaxing of the restrictions will be the same ones criticising the government if more people die”. He is spot on. It’s only because the Tories are in power. If Labour were in now many on this forum would be saying ‘it’s the Tories fault’. They are in a lose/lose situation.

What the **** are you on about? If Labour were in we’d be saying “it’s the Tories’ fault”?

It’s the right wing press on the whole pushing for the serfs to return to work. Newspaper sales being ****ed by this may influence that.

I'd like to think that most of us are sensible enough that if Labour were in charge amd they'd made as many mistakes as the current government, then we'd be holding them to account as well. It's all well and good saying it's an unprecedented situation, but other nations governments haven't bluffed and blagged their way through this crisis as badly as those that currently hold the reins of power in the UK.

I doubt there’s another country in anything like our position that opens its daily briefings with quarter of an hour on something totally irrelevant to advertise how great the government is doing.

So you are an expert on other nations handling of this? You would be surprised how other countries seem to be having problems as well. It’s not just us that have made mistakes.

No one has said it is. It’s fair to say with the info available that we’ve made more mistakes than just about anyone else. What grates on me is how immodest our lot are. They’re presiding over utter carnage after their nonsense half-hearted strategy didn’t keep numbers down early on and they speak as if we should be grateful.

All countries have or are having problems. Suppose it all then comes down to decisions taken, at what time and strong, clear, transparent leadership.

you would have to have thought, that ALL politicians regardless of party, would have been working together to try to eliminate this threat to "our" way of life. Yes it is an unprecedented situation the world finds itself in, but pointless point scoring isn't getting anyone anywhere.
