This is absolutely spot on.
They're in total denial.

You do seem to obsess about the brown child far awaySome of them were very popular when polled. Too many people can’t vote for Corbyn but his heart was in the right place and people knew that yet still couldn’t vote for him.
Admittedly they need to put more into directly helping blokes named Terry and need to stop valuing the lives of brown kids far away as equal to those of relatively comfortably off folk here to appeal widely enough.

Do you work for an aid agency by any chance
The election was about the UK apparently and it's place in the world
Not about the foreign aid budget
How much money should the UK give to the Indian space agency

.Unfortunately you can have the best manifesto in the World but if people have to read through pages and pages to find out what you are about then you are onto a loser. Under Johnson we can expect a further personalization of politics in which the messenger is more important than the message. Labour should not be looking just for a leader of their party, but someone who can stand opposite Johnson in the house for the next 5 years - a leader of the opposition, and the Prime Minister in waiting. The trouble was that nobody could actually imagine Corbyn as PM. The next Labour leader should be the most gifted public speaker in the House of Commons - that should be their aim, they should also be able to use humour as a weapon, like Johnson does. They should also be able and willing to talk to the media. Their position on the political spectrum is not so important if they have these qualities. They need to realize that this left vs middle debate is not that at all but rather fundamentalist vs pragmatist (Realpolitik) - idealism without power sucks, and power without idealism is aimless.

I can give a nod to the second part but not the first Sooper. The point is that all of the potential candidates for the Labour leadership, whether described as hard or soft left, were representing that manifesto at the election - and if they were not in tune with it then they should not have been standing. If it really was the case that only a half of all candidates and members actually agreed with the manifesto they were representing then it is easy to understand why they lost. I agree on Corbyn - he should now be withdrawn from the firing line as quickly as possible, with an interim leader installed (such as Harriett Harmann) until they have sorted out the new leadership issue. The Labour manifesto with Corbyn as leader was the longest suicide note in history...
"Popular radical policies".
Hilarious. How popular were they?
Total denial.
Kinnock's son said today that the manifesto was pure fantasy. They said at the time it was a joke and anyone that questioned it were bullied or hounded out. Good old Jezza the man of the people. It wasn't the manifesto that lost Labour the election. It was Corbyn and Brexit.

Stephen Kinnock should join a different party. I saw a documentary that followed him and a couple of other candidates around during the 2017 campaign. He was visibly distraught when he realised how well Labour had done in that election.
mmm He is proper Labour not that unelectable out of touch Islington rabble. You need to get with the times Stroller as your out of date politics has just been put to bed.Stephen Kinnock should join a different party.

I agree.
This Labour party has become the new communist party, who backed them in the election.
Any labour members who feel that their party is too far to the left now should form a new centre left party imo.
Any Government with a large majority needs a robust and effective opposition.
The present Labour party isn't the party that formed the NHS. It has deserted the working class who, in turn, have deserted Labour.
This Labour party is a protest party from the dinner party elite of Islington. Working class people simply don't identify with them.
Everyone I know who continue to support Corbynism are well off, middle class people.

Well actually I have been calling these things better than you. Maybe you should have listened to the fella down the pub? They know so much more than Owen Jones.Communist
I don't think you're the best person to judge what's 'proper' Labour.
