Let me make this clear, I am not a lover of the EU and would prefer to see my country leaving too. However I think the answer as you’ve stated is very clear.
The EU has not changed its stance. It can’t. It’s rules are bigger than any one member or country. May negotiated a deal and then couldn’t honor it!!!!!! Britain are prepared to leave with a no deal and walk away from the GFA which they also signed. Where’s the credibility?
The EU have stated from Day 1 that if Britain leaves with a no deal then when they come back to negotiate a future agreement there will be 3 preconditions, movement of people, the settlement fee and the Irish border issue. The experts say that any new agreement between the EU and Britain will take years to negotiate and agree. It’s this period that will IMO cause Britain the biggest turmoil. Both the EU and Britain need each other from a trade, movement and security point of view. But while the EU will undoubtedly suffer, Britain needs the biggest trading block in the world far far far more. Be clear on that. That’s why leaving without a deal and prolonging this mess for everybody is lunacy.

There are just as many "experts" who state that the EU need us more than we need them and that Ireland will suffer most of all.

Who to believe eh?

By the way, I definitely want us to leave WITH a deal.

Unless a deal is agreed before deadline this is going to get incredibly messy and it will have significant consequences for everyone. Ireland is potentially in a lose lose scenario.

I read somewhere that the definition of recession is negative economic growth for 2 quarters in a row. So we are half way there. Glass half full? Or glass half empty? We'll know early November when the 3rd quarter results are published I guess, but Boris increasing preparation for no deal suggests stockpiling may happen again now Q3, so maybe positive again Q3, but Q4 and Q1 next year, tjaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

So you're suggesting scrapping the referendum result, Bob? On that basis, you can scrap every election result in the last 100 years and probably before. Exaggerations or lies, politicians make them, it comes naturally. It's an imperfect process, but it's all we've got unless you have a better idea

Yes we vote based on facts not lies or exaggerations. Democracy is a myth if we dont. The referendum should be held on truths wouldnt you agree? Elections should be held on truths wouldnt you agree? All votes should. All these who bang on about the democratic vote of the referendum voted on bullshit! You all did, leave and remain.

Certainly Leave. As we been in the EU a few decades, people who voted Remain should have known what they were voting for.
