Sorry Ellers but I agree with G. Your responses, especially this morning, have been both childish and rude. I’m no angel for sure, but it doesn’t make good reading. Take time out from here every so often, it usually works for me when I’m being a bit of a twat......I come back better for it.
Interesting comments on the radio from Andrew Bridgen saying a reporter told him last night 4 hours before the announcement exactly what had been discussed. He went on and said that it was all 'for show' and was sorted before. Bridgen went on to say they seem to be rushing this through as if they are handing something. Not letting them have an extra day with something so important was disturbing.
All I said was that his post was boring. It was Staines. His comments re Raab were a childish response to what I said yesterday. Bs is a remoaner and doesn't like the fact that Brexit will happen.

Staines you don't need to get involved mate. I don't understand why you are worried about it...I'm not. Bs along with his underlings has been goading for some time. Mays "new deal" reduces the risk .....but legally we still can't leave unless the EU say so.
And during the time we are behind the backstop we are still subject to EU court of justice rules
So this is still no different?????

It looks like the risk has been reduced because it provides that if the EU acts in bad faith in future trade negotiations or does not use best endeavours to reach such an agreement, thus holding the UK indefinitely in the back stop, this gives the UK grounds to leave the backstop
But absent bad faith, the UK's position to be kept in the backstop is unchanged
So basically (I'm not the legal expert) It would seem that for all the fanfare from the government the legal risk still remains. meaning that the government's Attorney General is now admitting that there have been NO significant changes to the Withdrawal Agreement and last night was just political theatre.
The UK would have to prove bad faith which is incredibly difficult and would have to be proved before an arbitration.
I can't see any way the ERG and DUP will accept this. If they reject, I still think the EU may offer despite what Junckers says
Goldie did you hear David Davis on the radio today saying that before Leo Advaark became leader (or whatever he calls himself) we worked closely with the Irish regarding the backstop and getting on really well. After that, it stopped. Davis says he is now worried that they will stop negotiating with us to keep us in.
Junker said there was no negotiating last time and what did they do?
This could also weaken our hand further in any future negotiations as it means that the EU hold the cards - who decides what bad faith is? The EU will simply turnaround and say "We are offering them this in good faith, and the UK doesn't like it." Ergo we get stuck in the backstrop until the EU gets what they want from the UK.
