In lovely middle class Leamington Spa last night my son and a (black) mate were on the way to another mates to watch the Fury fight when they were attacked by six white men. One of them bit half of my son’s ear off, saying ‘that’s for having ******s for friends’. Also, of course, they were robbed. Anaesthetised by booze and Adrenalin the lads went on to see the fight only to realise how damaged they were when they sobered up.

Both lads spent most of the day in Warwick A&E, with broken ribs and his mate has a broken nose. After which the lad turned up at our place, because his phone was smashed in the fracas. Now we have to take the boy to Coventry A&E as the plastic surgeons want to see him urgently. The fact that I will miss the Alabama 3 gig tonight is of no importance, compared to the impotent fury I feel. My son is no stranger to trouble and injury, but was entirely innocent for this one. He is in shock because he is not used to being beaten up but relieved that no knives were involved. FFS.

I feel sick, but at least I know what a hate crime really is now.

Bloody hell what utter 2222^s. There is no place in society for racist 2222’s. Sorry to hear this Sb and I hope they recover quickly.

G, I’m so so sorry to hear of what happened to your son and his mate.
The feeling of helplessness must be unbearable as you know nothing can be done to make it better (and to get revenge ((my thoughts anyway)) )
I hope the c**** who did it get the same one day ( I’ve found they often do as there is no honour amongst thieves and scum)
I’ve had a bad shift of MH at work today, feel like **** and this news has made it worse.

Sorry to hear this sb, we may have our disagreements on here but news like this puts things into perspective, hope all involved recover soon and bare no lasting trauma, and hopefully the scum responsible find themselves in prison.

They have to be punished all six of them in the only way that works ... you may only need to do a couple of them as fear should take over . Don’t leave it to Plod as they will fluff about maybe a silly fine

They need to be shown the full price or they will do it again

Once again thanks lads, it does make a difference to know that common decency is still the norm.

Staff at the Walsgrave excellent, helped that he had been asked to go so he skipped the queue. Now waiting for him to be admitted - on a heavy antibiotic drip because human bites are ‘very dirty’, and will have operation tomorrow to tidy it up. Bitten through to cartilage, chunk gone from top of ear. As the lad says ‘I’ve been Mike Tysoned’. He is in decent spirits but I reckon shock will set in soon. What kind of human being does this ****?

I have pictures, but not for the squeamish. Doctor suggested we take them for the police, who are showing a lot of interest, already been round to the lads house. I will nip down to the station tomorrow to update them.

The ugliness and trauma of this aside, just think of the cost - the police, the police calling an ambulance for the lads, Warwick A&E, Walsgrave Coventry A&E, hospital admission and operation, more police time. All because of people it would insult animals to call animals.

Also sorry to hear this but I actually have things in perspective already and crimes like this are a daily occurance in the UK. It saddens me to say that but it's the society we have built and bred. My friend asked me the other day why our country is going to the dogs. Power and greed were my only answers

Don’t worry about the Ambulance mate. It sounds like it was a ‘proper’ job and any of us would be more than pleased to attend your lad and his friend. Beats some of the ****e we get called out to.

Just been talking to the police, they are taking this very seriously and will be visiting him in hospital, where he will have to stay for 2-3 days after op because the big risk is infection. So on top of everything as a self employed builder he will be losing his income. Bank of mum and dad will naturally step in but I am learning fast that being a victim of a crime can have many nasty implications.
