Im not on about any of the above Ellers. I just said it might not be a bad thing considering the youth of today.
Funny you mention that because I read an article about bringing back National Service to teach discpline.

There has to be unanimity between member states before any EU army could be created. We could have vetoed it, if we were staying. Ireland can still veto it.
They said today that the reason it doesn't already exist is because of us (and the vetoing). It will happen and they are determined to do this. They should have just coughed up the 2% for the NATO contributions. Anyway I would rather be involved with the US TBH.

Don't think anyone is right arsed Ellers. I certainly have no objection to an EU army if it ever comes about.

Bob I care not either about an EU Army. We have left so they do what they do. It just reinforces the case that they are intergrating the EU even more when people like Clegg said they weren't. That tells me that an influential remainer lied. People need to remember this European thing was set up as a trade block. Now it is becoming something else. I am surprised no remainers have mentioned this. <whistle>

The French article has 16 year-olds signed up to a month of "civil culture". "Young French citizens can look into teaching or work with charities, or take part in traditional military training with the police, fire service or army" followed by 3-12 months where "young people can work defense and security, or in social care, the environment, or heritage." Not really the sort of training I'd envisage conscripts in a European Army to undertake, more a way of instilling good life skills so that the youth have a chance of not stabbing each other to pieces over a ****ty piece of turf in Paris.

The second article is a letter to the Irish Times from Lord Kilclooney (who appears to be a Sinn Fein supporter...) on the opinion page.

Both articles hardly strive to make out that Macron & Merkel are building the so-called Euro Defence Army. We already carry out huge joint operations and exercises with our European partners under the NATO banner, and I'd imagine any European Army would work in tandem with NATO, and other Allied Blocs such as ANZUS and the UN if required, be it in Europe, Africa or further afield.

It's in the same place where they said there wouldn't be an EU army.

There Isn’t One !

It’s a black hole

When one exists only then can you say I told you so as I read it on the internet somewhere

I have an original prediction

There won’t be a single cat in the UK by 2054
We would of eaten them all

I listened to an EU misister who said the plan was for a Euro army.

The 2 articles were to demostrate what will happen.
Maybe this will convince you as it's come from the horses mouth.

Seriously cannot beleive that people think this won't happen. <doh>

I never said it won't happen, but if/when it does I'd envisage close co-operation with NATO, especially once Trump is out of power - some of his posturing is what is causing the Europeans to want to defend themselves. Pulling out of a Nuclear Disarmament treaty was indefensible in my opinion. However, I get his point about getting the lesser nations to pay their way, as we do, it's just the way he conducts himself that seems to get under the skin of other leaders. <laugh>

Get over it Ellers mate, it's melting you!! When/if we leave then let's discuss it, as it happens. Until we leave and let's be honest, who knows if that will happen yet then let's see what the consequences are

We have no choice to be involved with the US
We still owe them billions
Hence why we had to back them in the gulf wars
They are our puppet masters

mmm that's unusual from you bob.<laugh> it's not 'melting me', I am replying to a post. for someone who claimed they didn't vote because they didn't know... maybe you should listen to some of the arguments as it may help you understand more so if there is another vote you can vote remain again .:emoticon-0105-wink:

Sound advice Ellers. If there is another vote I will make sure I put my Mark down.

To be honest mate, I would never rely on an army made up of EU nations that doesn't include us.
NATO has kept the peace imo and any attempt to undermine it would be a huge mistake.

You need to bob whatever Remain/leave Con/Lab/Lib and if they cock up then you don't vote for them again.
I am a die hard Tory yet if May stitches me and others up she won't get my vote next time. that should be a huge concern for them because if they lose voters like me, then they are in big trouble.

Big big trouble. Think she has already stitched the whole country up

I just read Hugo Boss has won the contract to make the uniforms for the Euro Army

German Engineering will make the majority of the Small Army Vehicles with sponsorship from BMW, Mercedes, VW , Audi and Porsche

Renault from France will make the heavier trucks plus look after the rocket tech and Air Force

Sweden, Poland, Croatia, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands will handle and build the Euro Navy.

The French will build the extra roads and rail links

Lidl and Aldi will be running the supply chains

Adidas will be making the shoes

Belgium will supply the hot chocolate

Spain will supply the food lines plus will retake Gibraltar from the UK as it belongs to them and the UK will need to sell it anyway thus making the Mediterranean one massive sea port

The Irish will open up their country as a strategic Euro Army Base and as the French own the tunnel the UK with its proud people can remain isolated

Meanwhile Sports Direct has offered to make the UK’s uniforms ... Grey Orwell Suits with My Generation printed on the back with red white and blue painted targets. Reebok and Lonsdale will be making the slippers
