Stop bullying me. Stop trolling me. Stop boring the rest of us. You wait for one post from me to explode. Boomerang boy. I like that one. Not up to your usual level of insult but on a par with your usual cretinous, yoghurt-knitting self-importance. Just go back to the soundbites. Haven't heard 'Operation Fear' for a while now. Here is a simple question for you. Is there more than one poster who disliked Cologne's posts whose posts you read at the time (no cheating now) which made up your mind up for you about him. You keep telling us how widely you read.
zzzzzzzzzz
hang on...
zzzzzzzzzzz

Which part of the name Hornet did you miss?
You have Yorkshire in your name does that mean you support Leeds? Are you some plastic northern QPR fan? Watford had 'Watford" in his name does that make him a hornet? Get over fella and start moaning at other posters, (if you can).

It's looking more and more like May has painted herself into a corner with her own red lines. She plainly can't deliver on all of her own Brexit promises, but can't bring herself to admit it to the ERG or the DUP. Unlike Cameron (who used to portray it as a positive thing), she's incapable of performing a U-turn, and will end up driving us off the cliff.
No 2222 Sherlock!

Theresa May needs to hold her nerve and prepare for WTO terms. European industry will turn on Brussels and wipe the smug smiles off their faces

I am still not sure about May Goldie. In one breath she seems to be strong and in the other weak. I totally agree with you in that 1 minute after a no deal there will be a lot of German,French and co rushing to sort it out.

Unemployment is down again today and wages rising while in the EU they are concerned with Italy which they say could collapse the Euro. Just goes to show that we are better off away from them.

There's major brinkmanship going on from the EU. They'll probably take it to the wire ie November to see if they can force more UK concessions. But the big question is, will 26 member states accept major economic damage for years because Ireland won't accept a technological answer to the border issue

You do realise Yorkshire isn't just Leeds Ellers? It's the biggest county in our country. Plenty of football clubs. I take offence at the 'plastic northern QPR fan' reference.

She should admit what has become obvious to most, that there is no solution to the Irish border issue and that we will have to stay in the Customs Union for the foreseeable future.

So you reckon that we will be fine with no deal, but that the rest of the EU will suffer major economic damage? The fact is, no deal will be disastrous for both sides.

Some forget Barnier has a mandate to strike a deal and if there is a 'no deal' which is looking more likely you would have to ask a question... if the EU is so good with business, how come like all other businesses they can't adapt to strike a deal?

Truth is Goldie and we have said this all along, the EU will never adapt . It is set up for Germany and France.
People on here have mocked me for my stance but day by day the EU is showing everyone (apart from the die-hard freaks) that this union is not actually very good.

If may is not strong she will lose her job, be the worse PM in history, kill the Tories and end democracy in this country. Surely she must listen and tell them where to go.

You take offence to everything. You are like Yorkshire...You just pop up and start making little digs at me whenever I seem to post. Go and take offence to something else.

So wouldn't it be a good idea for the EU to start coming up with some decent ideas instead of trying to break us so we stay in the Gangster gang?

Bloody hell the facts are really coming out now...
Bill Cash has just said if we leave with a "no deal"
"The opportunities of this country are absolutely enormous and in particular just look at our trade balances. At the moment we run a deficit with the other 27 states of around £70b a year. We run a surplus with the rest of the World £40b growing very rapidly. That is the real test of the single market. It is not as good as people crack it up to be and we don't need to be in it. And we shouldn't be in it" .
funnily
"Germany makes a surplus with the same 27 of £104b"
Says it all.

I could of course criticize other countries Col, but most of our debates on here centre on the UK. so that is my starting point.

The main problem with that is that our surplus with the rest of the World is dependent on our EU. membership. As members we have preferential conditions in 50 non EU. markets, which would all need to be renegotiated in the event of withdrawal from the EU. A hard Brexit does not only damage our trading relationship to the EU. but to the rest of the World - all those trade agreements, which we have as members, would have to be renegotiated.

Zzzzzzzz. Does that mean we are already trading with the rest of the world?

Yes, and as he said we run a deficit with the EU. As soon as we get rid we will be free to do what we want.
Now....
Only last week I listened to that business Channel and some US analyst was saying that the EU actually holds the UK back and when they leave they will be a stronger country.
Just listen to farmers/fisherman and other business dealing with the EU or being under their rules/regulations.
anyway hopefully it will be over soon and we can be our own country again.

The EU will suffer huge damage because we have a trade deficit with them of about £70 bn per annum. Add to that the fact that they will not get at least £39bn which will mess their budget big time - these are huge sacrifices to make for the Irish border where some fudge could be reached.

Theresa May could not agree to stay in the Customs Union, because this will prevent the UK making trade agreements with countries outside the EU. If she tried it, half her cabinet would resign and she'd face a vote of no confidence.
