I would hazard a guess that all of these patriot millionaire use accountants and only pay min tax required, bet none say to the accountant, take that relief scheme ,I mean tax avoidance out of my account and pay more tax than needed.
But this Govt.....with a huge mandate...have the ability to alter tax rules.

Great post marra, and covers much of my feelings as well. However, did someone post that the new ID cards don't include Sex? Hence they wouldn’t vote for Starmer...
I posted that, it is true. I won't vote for Starmer simply because he is imposing digital id on everyone. I have a birth certificate and a National Insurance number that has been suffice for the government taking tax from me for 46 years if they don't know who I am can I ask for all that money back?

Important to remember these are human beings who want a better life, like we all do, in the midst of the exploitation of hate for power.

I think there's differences to the human beings who come here though.

We have a duty of care to house people who cannot meet their basic living needs at home because of war, persecution, natural disasters etc.

However, I do think there are people who already have their basic standard of living met elsewhere but the grass looks greener here in our supposed land of plenty. We already have stretched public services, a struggling NHS, high homelessness, high unemployment etc. We can't afford to take in people coming here simply because they perceive life to be better here, because we don't have the resources to look after them.

Though some might be the answer to our stretched public services. Many work in health and social care and help tjose you describe. Clearly not all. Stop everyone seems a bad move.

People coming here on small boats do not have skills or expertise that British people don't have. If we have a shortage of a particular skillset then I am sure those people could apply for a working visa. People in small boats throw their i.d overboard half way. They are not looking to fill skilled vacancies in the Labour Market.

Hi marra, good to know you're still functioning on all cylinders! :emoticon-0105-wink:
I suppose my point is that Blair thought immigration would lead to economic growth, but he failed to factor in the vast numbers who would arrive and the pressure that would place on our services and infrastructure, not to mention communities. There was no partnership with the EU....we were taken for a ride.....and,as far as the French are concerned, still are. It's all very well to say we're grateful for workers arriving to fill the social need,if the reason for the increased social need is a direct result of the immigration numbers. I don't think there are many on here who would disagree with giving a home to people, from wherever, who are in genuine distress, but that's not what's happening. And, as much as you don't want to hear it...Farage can't be blamed for it...he's only at the forefront of the push back....however distasteful he is.
Just had a look and we opted out of the quota system and set up our own. Possibly with the exception of children. I wonder if we fared better or worse as a result. My head says taking a share through managed routes is safer and likely to help woth safety /order/control. Im sure many disagree. Its a complex world problem though in rhe context of poverty, famine, war and environmental challenges.

And we have high numbers of unemployment, these people should be trained up and made to take these jobs if they cannot find employment. The stigma attached to these jobs needs to be removed, and rates of pay increased

Anyone think Farage should be arrested for incitement ?
No defending him this time surely

Social media is filled with examples people talking about the righteous rage of the mob over the George Floyd death, the whole thing stinks of piss, the number one catalyst for the world going to **** is partisan double standards.
