I am resigned to our fate this season so having a regular chuckle at someone else's expense would be useful. Trust me - you really don't want to go up.
As I've said before ..the journey to the promised land is often better than time spent there..... I think that your Manager has been found out somewhat this season....
I wouldn't count Norwich out of it yet, it's by no means a foregone conclusion. I know you've been in poor form and your January recruits aren't exactly gelling right now, but, glancing at the league table, I imagine it's a battle between Sunderland, Newcastle, and yourselves to stay up (with Villa looking set on relegation). Palace are in free-fall at the moment, so they could get dragged into the mire. I wouldn't count Swansea or Bournemouth out of it right now. But yeah, you've got to pick up points. Even if you do get relegated, you'll be one of the favourites to go back up. And say what you want about being a 'yo yo club', I think it's a damn sight more entertaining than being stuck in the second division for almost 15 years.
Entertaining yes, in parts but truly horrible at times I have often wondered what it would be like to support a team that flirts with promotion most, if not every season but just falls short each time - how could anyone deal with that? That's a scenario you guys seem to be heading for where another 2 or 3 seasons in the top 4 - 8 and should that happen I think I will begin to feel a bit sorry for you. (A bit like Cardiff a while ago).
Relegation looks very a case of 2 into 3 now...see the fixture police have given you yellows a lovely last 3 fixtures. Reminds me of your last campaign, horrific at the end. That match with Newcastle looks big.. I think bottom 3 will remain bottom 3 - I'd always fancy a Big Sam side to rack up points by hook / crook and he's doing a fine job at Sunderland. If they stay up they should let him sort them out! As for us, massive bitter pill after that late goal but we're right back in the mix. COYB.
As I said after the Leicester match (where I hid amongst you) that you were the better side by a mile. Replace Jerome with a striker who at least looks like scoring (i.e. Grant Holt of 4 years ago) then you wouldn't be in this mess. Plus, playing Bennett in defence makes you look like a team that at least knows what defending is meant to look like. But back on to Ipswich, there appears to be a lot of matches between the play off 'chasers' before the season is out. Another 7 wins should be about right, not sure we've got that in us, but we're never out of it until it's mathematically impossible. Mick could pull off another minor miracle
Scowey I also get the feeling sadly for Norwich and good from our point of view, if they had a good striker they'd have another 10-15 points this season.
