After that performance though Palace will need to spend big if they want to stay up next year.

I don't see why people get so annoyed with Watford using the loan system. Sure, their owner has been loaning them players from his other clubs, but that's not particularly different from regular parent/feeder affiliations that happen all the time. Really can't see the problem.

The problem is there is no limit to the number they can have like there is for domestic loans. Anyway the rules are changing and they won't be able to do it next season, so expect a bunch of Italians to sign for them on free transfers <laugh>

The everso slightly less crap team beat the very crap team.

Hull & Palace will do well to win a single game next season. Cardiff maybe a few more, but none of them have either the buying power or a mass of talented youngsters coming through to compete.

Erm.... Cardiff do.

So the Premier League line-up is...

1. Arsenal
2. Aston Villa
3. Cardiff City
4. Chelsea
5. Crystal Palace
6. Everton
7. Fulham
8. Hull City
9. Liverpool
10. Manchester City
11. Manchester United
12. Newcastle United
13. Norwich City
14. Southampton
15. Stoke City
16. Sunderland
17. Swansea City
18. Tottenham Hotspur
19. West Bromwich Albion
20. West Ham United

I think the Cardiff owners make out they have a lot of money, not so sure its "real" or loans in lieu of getting to the Prem & then bleeding some dosh back east.

Feels a bit "Pompey" to me.

Dowie saying that Zaha should be in Utd's first team next year, not sure about that, think he will be loaned back to Palace for the season

Well it seems pretty well-known to Cardiff fans that the owner has provided funds. Mackay has £25m to spend. He says he wants 4/5 players.

$1.25bn according to Forbes. They will spend enough to have a good chance of staying up.

And of course, fans can always believe tabloid statements like "we will spend £25m". Most of our Fratton chums did.

they spent about £15m this season, I imagine they'll invest reasonably heavily next season
