Someone's going to do a Beckham, the penalty spot looks like a rabbit hole.

Maybe so but they were languishing near the bottom of the table for a good 2/3 months of the season.

Bournemouth were hugely underachieving. I had them down for auto-promotion in pre-season.

The whole Groves saga was ridiculous, spending all that money on top players (at L1 level) and then not providing a good manager...

The point is they ludicrously overachieved with the players they have. They didn't add a lot in January, only Matt Ritchie springs to mind. They got promoted because of one man: Eddie Howe.

Shame Swindon didn't get through, I would like to have seen Di Canio take his Sunderland side to Swindon.

I'd have to disagree with this. Bournemouth have a lot of quality at that level. They did not overachieve at all.

They had one of the biggest squads, transfer budgets and wage budgets in the league, they were also one of the very few clubs in League one who could actually pay transfer fee's. As DTLW said, thy were underachieving hugely.

Bournemouth's Squad: (not all permanent or there now - due to loans/terminations etc)

    GK: Jalal, James, Flahavan, Allsop.
DEF: Francis, Purches, Cook, Cooper, Elphick, Addison, Seaborne, Daniels.
MID: McDermott, Partington, Arter, MacDonald, Davids, Fogden, Hughes, Fraser, McQuoid, Pugh, Ritchie.
ATT: Grabban, Pitman, Barnard, Demouge, Tubbs, Fletcher.

That's a squad of 29 players that have been named on the squad list. I've probably missed some.

They certainly had more resources, they've also already agreed a deal for Marcos Painter from Brighton.

It may just be me, but I'd expect that side to be right up the top end of the table, fighting for promotion.

Probably should have won the title.
