They seem to be essential even though a lot of people don't like them. I like them but I cook the hell out of them don't like this crunchy veg trend at all.
I've made it myself in the past but found a good one in Lidl Wild sage and onion with ciabatta breadcrumbs, it's very nice.
Deffo one of my favs. Full list from me... Goose Roasties Roast Parsnips Pig in blankets Stuffing Sprouts Gravy
For me its all about the "trimmings" ... Turkey is quite a dry meat so ....(this goes back to the fabulous spreads my old girl used to put on): Pigs in blankets (or chipolata sausage) Sausage meat baked in the oven Chestnut stuffing Sage & Onion stuffing Bread sauce Gravy Cranberry sauce
I'm the opposite and the bird is king, I don't like bread sauce or cranberry or the sausage meat. To me it's all there to mask the crap meat. Get a goose and you've got a great bit of meat the rest then is a sideshow.
Christmas round our place is a simple affair. We nick some tinsel and baubles from the tree in Boots and use them to decorate the skip. We have our Christmas meal in the evening after we've done a tour of the bins on Hollydale Avenue where the rich folk live. Boxing Day we have leftover leftovers.
