New Boots and Panties was a brilliant album. Superb lyricist, Ian Dury, one of the best ever imo. My dad was particularly fond of this one... “Drove a bus for London Transport, He was tidy in his digs. Did the crossword in the Standard, He smoked too many cigs, My Old Man... Died before we’d done much talking, Relations had begun All the while we thought about each other, All the best mate from your son... My Old Man...“
Good lyrics. I'm finding many groups/singers, that i thought were **** at the time, but now realise they ere not as **** as i first thought. Proclaimers being the prime example.
@Chief posted that yonks ago...I'm almost addicted to it. The best ever footy song by far, love it. It was that, that got me watching other stuff. It's some video, and how footy should be.
Shame it's poor quality, but the original on youtube don't have the video attached, so good find or the knowledge to find it. That's a compliment btw.
I like Eric Goulden. He studied at art school in Hull. On the video Ian Drury is on drums and Ian's girlfriend is playing bass.
One of the all time greatest bands ever, if you disagree you may as well give up with music and just listen to radio one
Wouldn't see them perform now, by all accounts it's a bit on the **** side, but wow they really were that good, and by that good I mean ****ing amazing.
He's pretty damn good, just been looking through some of his stuff. Comes from Muswell Hill, I don't know why I'm thinking that's @Archers Road neck of the woods? - Although a lot of his works seem to have an american backdrop, what's that all about!
