Worth a pint tonight. Good old Torquay. So far so good this weekend. A tray of prawn cocktails for my friend Gat who must have 5 minutes to spare.
Well done Argyle!....seemed Bradford took over the match after the goal on text.....that last five mins seemed like 5hrs. Drinks all round all night!
Great result today, it seems years since we have been more than 1 game clear of relegation. To hell with the tax.... pastys all round.
well played argyle, i spy a great escape. pasty and chips and a pint of betty stoggs please. could my pasty be hot and of ambient temperature please
Have a Ginsters , they taste the same hot or cold.......... like ****!! Greta 3 points another 3 at Hereford and we will be on a roll. We are staying UP!!!
and we have to play daggers, but given our performance at home park and today against the shots, it may not be a big deal, but suddenly we need points. we will do our best. good luck and stay up ready to piss all over league 2 next season with gas and the shrews in the unlucky event we bottle it again
The result itself is worth getting pissed for but the game itself.................oh dear. We started like an express train and turned into a milk float in a matter of 10 minutes. We should and could have walloped this side. What we got was a team that went 1 - 0 up and then lost the plot completely. It seemed that nerves or something took over and they were allowed back into the game. They were unlucky today to lose. I just fail to understand what the problem is at home. I spent a very long time today holding my breath and praying. The last 5 minutes was one of the worst I've had to sit through and you were just waiting for the wheels to come off. 4 points clear of relegation is somehow tonight almost unbelievable but very gratefully received. I don't care how they do it as long as they do but will my ticker be able to stand the pressure.
Relax Sensible, we will stay up as i have always said. only just tho. Its one big ride. but next year i think with a few changes it will get a lot better. well it needs to.
We were bloody lucky to win today and also due to the results of the teams around us have kept us out of the relegation zone again, one thing is for certain Wotton is definately passed his sell by date, how long is his contract for ? The prawn cocktails have gone down a treat, thank you Sensible !
Wasn't Paul Wotton's contract for a year? According to the radio he hit the post today and Simon Walton did some important defending on several occasions too! I wasn't at the match - my son goes with his friends these days which is better for him tbh, I stayed at home and cleared shed-loads of ironing, maybe being knackered from that is my excuse for the prediction cock-up
Pressure, pressure and more pressure I think is causing them to struggle at HP but the good thing is they are picking up points, those are the sort of games we would have lost the last couple of seasons. Next few games are 100% results no matter how bad we play that is all that counts. If we survive, it is looking one hell of a lot better now than a few weeks ago, I think we have the core of a decent league 2 team there and a couple of signings plus the youngsters coming on and a good start next year and things will be very different. Fingers crossed for the Shrews really dont want Crawley going up, although at least we wouldnt have to pay them next year.
We cannot depend on our defence to win the day for us every week, thats eleven games and only 5 goals in the away column. We have got to find away of scoring when we are on top.........the mid-field is possibly too defensive.........if you've been what do you think ?
Worth a couple of pints tonight as will be off to Dartmouth in the morning to spend a few days with the inlaws. In fact worth a lot of pints as it's going to be great......... 3 nights without my computer to hide away in. I might have to talk to people in person.
Haha lucky you sensible, I hope the weather isn't going to be too bad for you. Have a great time and a few
now can the shrews do you and themselves a big favour at macclesfield on friday night. a pint of tribute says we can
Enjoy your break in Dartmouth Sensible. I love going to see the in laws! Last time i saw the mother in law was 8 years ago. Its great . Hope fully it a be at least 8 more until i see her again, if she is lucky
You are a tad younger than me joe so more likely to have mother/father-in-law's left. When you get to my age the chances are a lot smaller. To be fair I always got on really well with both the wife's parents. Her Dad was an ex matelot who generally didn't like them because he sort of knew what they were like. I was one at the time of first meeting him but quickly discovered he liked horse racing and boxing and we were well away. He was a very very good boxer in his prime. They had 6 sons and 2 daughters and I was always treated just the same as all of them. The siblings were a bit different and I got on pretty well with the younger ones. One was only 10 when I got married and he has always been the little brother although he grew to be 6ft 3ins and built like a tank. All the brothers were well into 6ft territory and I am only 5ft 10ins so was a bit of a dwarf in comparison. Like a lot of families they are now spread all over the place so not many left in Dartmouth now. My sister-in-law who is the one we will stay with is as mad as a hatter and a bit religeous which is my only trepidation.
