On my bucket list is to go somewhere hot at Christmas, if they don't go mad for Christmas as we do in this country it'd be a bonus!

I echo all your thoughts on Christmas sensible, I'm not religous either but Christmas has lost it's meaning somewhere in the retail frenzy and Plym, I can't go back that far - an orange and an apple WTF!!!

plymborn's apple and orange was true enough Mrs lalala. You used to get one present, apple, orange, some sweets and chocolate and I don't know about his pillowslip but mine was always in a stocking. No point in a pillowslip as that would have been too big. My dad always got a lump of coal in his as well which was his to go light the fire with. When I say one present I do mean toy by that. I don't include the knitted jumper from your Gran which I got every year.

The lump of coal came at mid-night (knock on the door)............my father was the SWO man..........always someone trying to keep in his good books..........a powerful job on a RAF Camp, the top NCO rank..........in control of the parade ground, not just for NCO's but Officers as well.

When I did my National Service years later I kept very quiet about that at RAF Bridgnorth. Doing basic drill training I didn't want the CPL drill instructors to find that out, my life would have been hell, my Father was in civvy street by then (28yrs service).

That sounds a good idea Gat-Po...........but don't talk footie just at the moment........seeing we supposed to have played our best football of the season and still lost..........bring on the rubbish and some points would be more suitable...........just get Fletcher and Larrieu on the damn pitch..........and leave managing to a experienced man.

Two eggs, no fried bread.......just toast, plus all the trimmings please.

plymborn with all due respect to you and your opinion of the football at the moment, I have to say you are probably giving this without having seen for yourself and only going on the after match manager's comments and the score line. I realise that you are unlikely to see for yourself given where you live so the absence bit is not a criticism but an observation. Yesterday this young side matched Swindon easily in the opinion of somebody who watched it. It wasn't the greatest football ever seen but it was end to end and quite competetive. We spent a lot of time up their end and had 2 cleared off the line. Cole was not tested much at all and the end result ought to have been at least a draw if there was a fairness god in football. But we know there isn't and they scored one and we did'nt. The comments by Di Canio after the match are laughable and I have no idea what he was watching for their goal. He describes it as something that should be shown in the Champions League for quality. He must have been having his bald spot shined at the time because it was an ordinary goal by anyones standards. They broke away, passed it a couple of times and scored. They spent a good deal of time humping the ball forward or out of defence just like we did. The difference between the sides, goal apart, was that they moaned and moaned about everything and appealed to the ref countless times. They went down as if a leg had been chopped off only for their own team mates to keep the ball in and ignore them. After a minute of nothing happening they got up and ran around like sprinters again. If I may say in typical Italian fashion. The ref was awful but we are getting used to that in this league. The disappointing part was he booked nobody for dissent which he should have done early on and booked a few for next to nothing. But, we are nowhere near as bad as the league position suggests these days and with the addition of a couple after Admin is sorted then I think we will be ok. Also, there is not one green tinted comment in the above. It is what I saw and no more or less.

Look at the facts since Reid left. You may not agree with the manner of his removal but was the decision right on the footballing side? Fletcher as this unknown quantity as a manager has gotten more points in a few games than Reid managed for the previous part of the season. Read comments like Hourihan's which says the team are buzzing and you read into that it may not have been all wonderful under Reid. Given the points gained and improved results and performances then why should Fletcher pick himself and be on the pitch when he is doing ok off it. Larrieu on the other hand should play just to relieve us of Cole. Fletcher has the same constraints as Reid had,no more and no less. Reid had plenty of experience so where does the comment "leave management to more experienced people" actually come into play when facts aren't speaking the same language.

What you say sensible has an element of truth...........Gillingham is the only game I have actually seen this season............and there was probably more chance of me scoring from the stand than any Argyle player...........the only result Argyle could have been playing for would have been 0-0.

There has been improvement obviously from that time,so things are going in the right direction......... and soon we might be able to bring in two or three more experience players which should make a difference.

It doesn't surprise me that a Di Canio team show the elements that got him into trouble so often...........I still remember the time he disagreed with the Ref and just pushed him to the ground..........such an endearing man.

I see that Peter Reid was seen today with the Man C Directors as a guest at Man U, so he obviously wasn't pondering his yes or no answer at the time.

Vast mounds of money have helped to bypass the usual way of building a team over a period of time, like Sir Alec has done.........I don't care for that way of buying success........at least we don't have to worry too much about that with PAFC.

Sometimes you see the strangest things like me and my Mrs did last week. This is because you mentioned newts. We were just walking off Mutley Plain when a group came towards us with one of them only out of 5 in a costume. Curious my Mrs asked what she was supposed to be and she said she was a newt. She was going on a night out and she got pissed as one the last time so thought she would go attired this time so there could be no doubt. That is an honest story. I did have to smile at that.

It has been quiet on here for a few days. Just shows who does most of the yapping doesn't it.

Think there might not be anyone in here as they will be having more than a reality one if it happens. Not sure who you mean by "she" Gat as I don't recall mentioning gender or anyone in particular. Are you suggesting Mrs lalala yaps a lot? And I thought she was your mate.
