A filling key. I filled it and after bleeding the rads it has dropped a little. We got just under 1 bar which a lot more than we had. I think I will need to do it again just to get it up to 1 and then it should be fine. When it was fitted no one told us anything about it, not even about the timeclock. I sussed that out myself. The instuctions were not that helpful. The wife has been known to have heating on during the summer so I needed to sort it. Thanks for the offer of advice I may have to take you up on that.

Ok, just put a little more pressure on and it should be ok once you vented all the rads, if the pressure keeps dropping there could be a leak! What clock have you got a RF Programmable room stat or Mechanical?

Mechanical one joe. We've never had any luck with the heating in 12 years of living in the house. We had a problem with the old system once when the thermo couple went. When the plumber fixed it we asked him if he could look at the rest of the system as it never really worked well, some rads would work one day and other days be cold. When he finished looking around he said it would be easier if he just ripped it all out and started again. The previous owner was a diy man and he had done it himself! The plumber even thought the bloke may have done the boiler himself!
I am a sparks and I have had to rewire the house because I found so many things wrong with the wiring. We even had to have a window which had been bricked up by him redone because he got the mix wrong with the morter and you could take bricks out by rubbing the morter with your finger! I actually did this.

Most people are diyers, they make some mess and are very Dangerous. They should just leave boilers and electric's alone, i blame the diy stores for selling such items to people who have no Qualifications.

At present the Gas industry is still trying to stop this and it will be a hard job, but the only way is to stop the public or builders buying Gas appliances unless they show their Gas safe registration, some merchants do it now for spares. The mechanical clocks are quite easy to use it should be a MT10. There has been a few problems with them, but the newer ones now are ok, we change lots as all we install mainly is Worcester and we carry out repairs on their in warranty work. But overall its a good product as long as its installed correctly. if you get any probs let me know.

Sorry I havn't got around to answering your many questions sensiblegreeny.............

    1) so your not an Ostrich........your a rose so you'll catch..........sensiblegreenfly.

    2) you've been having an unhappy hour for the last 3 years.........directly after each match played by Argyle.

    3) Vampire.........fangs for that..........it's broad daylight in N W kent this time of year at 0430.

    4) My new combi boiler has two adjustment taps on the boiler, open them up by half-a-turn and a digital read-out on boiler needs to reach 1 bar plus reading, that with the rads bled. If it drops to 0.5 bar it safeguards the boiler by turning it off, with boiler in loft on end wall it's a bit of a doom and gloom situation...........but of course that would probably make your day.

All this talk of central heating for crikes sake it is mid bloody summer you lot. Buy a thicker coat and you won't need central heating anyway. How many people on here of a certain age grew up with the things? I didn't and I'm still here. Bloody softies.

Just got that in in time before non bleeding moaning happy hour.

I have to visit nursing home each day and don't get home and have my tea till later so can't make the Guildhall tonight. Will be interested in the bullshit sorry info that comes out of this meeting if anyone would like to post it later.

Note the post time ma'am. On the dot and no moan since. Anyway, pot kettle as you just went somewhere else to have your's.

Suspect a few might be down at the Guildhall tonight so might be a tad quiet for a while. Haven't you got any questions about your central heating whilst we wait?

I know who to ask when I do sensible.

BTW happy hour is only here in the Pilgrimage so moaning is ok elsewhere during this hour besides some people wouldn't survive a whole hour WOULD THEY SENSIBLE??
