Good luck in the play-offs Phil. You did it for us, now do it for Southend.

Sunday 11th May - 12:00pm - 1st leg
Burton Albion v Southend United

Nowt against Sarfend, but my good luck and high five goes to York; a lovely little suburb of Hull. <whistle>

When I first met my husband in 1968 and he talked about Hull City he had that impossible dream. His grandfather since 1905 and father since 1912 had dreamed too but never saw the day the top tier was reached. My husband who started his support from 1946 was not at Wembley believing he would bring the team bad luck!

Subsequently he wrote a lovely letter to Phil Brown citing his family history and thanking him and the club for the achievement and received a lovely reply. My husband told him that the next objective should be to take Hull City to a Wembley FA Cup Final and complete the double impossible dream!

Did not take long to complete the double impossible dream but this time my husband will be there.

Mrs BMB I know your husband has had health problems. Am I understanding you correctly that he will be at Wembley next Saturday? Will you be with him. I would like to say hello if you will be there. I am in block 219...Row 15...with my son. If you are close I will try to stop by.

He will be there but I will not. He has been back to full health for a couple of years now. Currently he is in Hull until after the Everton match when he goes to Wales to meet up with our Aussie best friends who are on an extended holiday in the UK and are arranging the Wembley visit. No idea yet of where he will be seated.

Will you be with Stephen who lives in Westminster?- I still have his address from when I sent you your winning cheque for the Tigers goals competition on Hull City Mad a few years ago! That year I was at Wembley to see my team win a cup-final in the 119th minute! You won a cash bonus from me for that too. Coincidentally that year I was also at Wembley to see Swansea win to take the 3rd promotion spot to the Premier League with the same friends I mentioned above.

Still hope I will finally meet up with you when we visit Vancouver Island next January following a visit to Hull for my sister-in-law's 50th wedding anniversary.

Have a great day at Wembley hopefully crowned with a Hull City win. I will be watching on TV along with the 2 cats!

and don't forget the singing lessons in readiness!

Can't understand why he got (still gets) the pi55 taking out of him for the 'Best Trip' rendition.

Why not?

Unfancied manager. Unfancied team. Just achieved the impossible dream of retaining Premier League safety.

Too many 'the Premier League is too good for Hull City/Phil Brown' types at the time - fook em.

Like everyone else in the ground apart from the pricks in the North Stand, at the time it felt like the best trip I'd ever been on (football wise).

Good luck today Browny.

I'm supporting York for promotion but if not would like Browny to do it. He is a top bloke who got a couple of things wrong but on the whole gave us a bloody good time.

Philip Brown; Always stepped up to the plate.

Our second greatest manager ever.

Sunderland erected a statue to Bob Stokoe, we have 'fans' who want to ridicule Phil Brown.
