So you called me a **** and now a twat.

Well done Tash, that is incredibly mature of you and has obviously allowed this debate to flow far more smoothly.

He hasn't. It was just that he questioned why Tash called him a **** (which was a fine point by Simon) but it's hardly a 'reasonable response', as if he'd baffled Tash with his logic. YGMB?

Tash I mentioned the phrase "beating your head against a brick wall". It means don't give yourself the pain of trying to something again and again without the hope of any positive effect. Or to put it another way, don't try again and again to explain something to somebody who doesn't or won't understand.

I'm sorry if you didn't understand a basic English phrase that has been in use for centuries.

  4. I'm not going to respond to him politely, and i'm certainly not going to bother my arse countering his argument, if he's going to be disrespectful, the same as anyone else. He may provide good arguments, and Simon's an intelligent bloke, more intellignent that me i agree, but if people are going to come and ruin the nature of the conversation then i have no time for them. It was all going well until Donkey and Simon started taking the piss out of me.

HMT was talking about how ******ed..

..this comment was when HMT said 'Who cards if Ashley can save millions on wages,'

To the point, people's wages in football are too high now, but that what the clubs are prepared to pay for the players in the first place. 80K to 50K is a BIG drop.

  7. You were taking the piss mate because you then said rep for anyone that explain to me how basic economics works, implying that i'm stupid and know **** all about it.

I'm sorry i misunderstood the way you were using the phrase, but i keep on getting the impression you're talking down to me and never show any sign of respect, and you were the main culprit in spoiling the conversation. Everyone was being respectful, then you started taking the piss.

The thing is though; you really don't seem to understand basic economics. There was no implication of stupidity, rather naivety when this topic arises and the same facts of a sound economic policy are re-iterated to you time and time again to no avail.

You have your opinion on it yet that opinion generally falls apart when faced with simple facts of economics.

At the end of the day, what Ashley is doing is good for football, but you just know he isnt doing it for the good of the football club.

  18. My ideas may not benifit the club financially short term, and some people may think i'm being stupid by saying "who cares if we can save money on player wages". But that doesn't mean i reckon we should just discard everything and pay all the players big wages to stay.

My point was, that losing a player and what gives to the club in terms of performances and dedication, might be a bigger loss to the club than the extra money we're paying on wages. Say if we do sell Coloccini, and we get a replacement that ends up not being as good as we thought, and also doesn't get on with the players like Coloccini does, and the whole thing ends up letting the team and the club down, and we fall short of our targets. That can cost the club more money in the long run, as points = pounds, and it will cost us even more if we get relegated due to lack of team spirit/chemistry.

My opinion is based on my will for the club to do well long term, not save a few million right now. We could get cheaper players, but we could also end up losing alot more through lack of success, due to the fact that we got shot of all our vital players.

Do you get what i'm saying now?

Firstly I am sorry if I give the impression of talking down to you when it comes to these topics and I accept that I probably do to an extent. Read on to hear my explanation as to why.

But you know that this is not an isolated incident. You start one of these threads every few weeks arguing that we should pay your favourite players the earth and slag off MA for being cheap and you never listen to the opposing arguments from other forum members.

Myself and a number of others have come to blows with you over this several times but you still come back with the same arguments and I have genuinely run out of ideas of how to put my case to you in a way that will be understood. So whilst my comments might have seemed rash within this thread we both now that this debate goes back along time.

I have before suggested to you that you leave financial debates alone because they always end this way.

As for me I have worked as an accountant, commercial manager, trust & company administrator and director and a financial risk analyst for in the region of 23 years and I trust my knowledge on these sort of subjects. Certainly enough to know when somebody is discussing something well out of their comfort zone.

Lets agree to disagree and at least keep it civil. I will try not to sound patronising again if you will try not to call me a ****. Fair enough?
