It pains me to have to say it mate, the truth hurts.

The club's history, awesome travelling fans and the good people on here deserve so much more.

But the roller-coaster ride of supporting NUFC keeps us coming back. Ashley knows it's in the blood for us, a captive customer base – he's no mug!

Another guide on how good/bad a manager is, is to judge him on the players he buys. This would also indicate a style of football.

In general I like the type of players being bought.

Also, I am aware he does not buy the players but he does have an input along with others. We have bought B Arfa, Cabaye, Ba, Cisse, Debuchy amongst others. All very good players at least and all with the right style and quality.

We have tried sacking on a knee jerk reaction before and that style of management has not proven too successful in the past. So lets try a new style for us at least which means backing the manager, accepting that he, like everyone including other managers, make mistakes from time to time and trusting that when the "big hitters" come back we will recover.

Many are questioning his tactics and substitutions, but tactically your hand is forced by the personnel you've got available, surely?

At the minute it's about fielding a scratch eleven each time. He's having to put square pegs in round holes, but not just that – the 'square pegs' are inexperienced, raw and youthful.

With every new team he has to field, you're experimenting. These combinations of players have never played in a competitive side together before!

Hence why today was like a preseason game performance...

I agree. I could understand it if we had one or two players that were having duff seasons, but it seems like almost all of them! So the question for me becomes why is the almost the entire squad under performing? There has to be a common denominator.

Yes we have injuries, yes if there had been more investment in the summer we might not be in the situation we now find ourselves in. But the fact of the matter for me is that any player selected to play for this Club should be busting a gut for the win, for the team, for the manager and for the supporters. Not sure we saw much of that today. I could stand today's result if I felt the players had put in a shift, that to a man they had wanted the win and had gone out for the win. But they didn't.

I take 2SilverSeahorses's comment about Pardew being limited by the personnel available and that the team as put out may not have played together before. But surely that doesn't stop them from at least having a go? putting some kind of effort into it?

Saying all that :emoticon-0102-bigsm , I am still with Pards, and agree with all those that have said to sack him now would de-stablise the club and lose the constancy (if that is a word) that we have wanted for so long. But this poor spell has been going on for a long time with limited signs of any significant improvement, and I look to the players and to Pards to pull their fingers out and start playing like we know they can and with the passion and the commitment that we expect.

    So there:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Yeah sure, no excuses for not having a go and showing spirit, hunger etc. There was next to nowt of that today.

But that will only take you so far if you're not good enough and let's face it CONFIDENCE is low too. You start mentally preparing to lose again.

Gotta try and shake that off and only results will do that.

Unsurprisingly, a massive IN from me. I'm just not into this manager merrygoround as I can't see any long term benefit.

Problem is , the corner doesn't seem anywhere near really. The true #1 player we need to replace in the team is definitely Willo, with a better CB. Once that is done, I think the pieces can start falling together.

It's now coming upto 40 years since I first started going to the game regular and I have only missed 1 home game in that time
i think that I have kept the faith despite numerous downtimes,
I still keep believing Pardew in,

to those that want him out ........... I've seen worse, believe me, I've seen a lot worse and without the constraints that this manager has
