Just a wider view, but for me IS is an indirect result of a combination of the Arab Spring which was seen as a positive by the US, the countries in turmoil now are more or less in civil war because of it. Plus a few out of work high ranking Iraqi Imperial Guard officers are unemployed since being kicked out by George W. Trying to impose democracy on tribal situations never will work.
Arming Rebels sure, they admit that. They want Assad gone, they made no secret of that either. Russia arm Syria though, that's why Russia vetoed the war on Assad.
It's all relative to me. It was just a job. I used to dwell on it a lot but somebody helped me. I'll give a situation. An army checkpoint in NI. A car approaches & the soldiers signal for it to stop. Instead, it speeds up & try's to smash through. What would anybody do? Let them go or open fire? I'm at ease with things now, I have peace of mind.
I beat myself up over it for years mate & it ultimately led to my discharge. Like I say though, I'm fine now.
Agreed to a point mate. I pay little to no attention to any media outlet as they all have vested interest. I would say though, we were wrong to invade but these countries were all ****ed beyond belief before we got involved, too. 9/11 still happened. And plenty of other atrocities before that.
