Can City transform the season and stay up.

Here are a few reasons why:

We have a very good home record, even against some of the top sides.

Liverpool have just had a very tough game (at home).

They are on a long winning run that will surely have to end soon.

Although Liverpool are free scoring nobody has been free scoring against us at Carrow Rd (8 x 0, 6 x 1, 2 x 2, 1 x 3), the pressure could get to them with a shut out.

Chelsea still have a rather poor forward line and remain unconvincing in the percieved easier ties

Hazard is injured

Man United are certainly not convincing, their home record has been awful (I understand they have the best away record in the EPL)

Arsenal are in turmoil and we have them at home, there is also a possibility they will not be able to get 4th by the time we play them.

Fulhams next game is Spurs away

We have a better goal difference than them

Fulham and Cardiff are still rubbish

We have a renewed vigour, fresh ideas and enthusiasm from the crowd

We played Fulham with a patched up defence

We do have a striker who can finish when presented with the chances

We play better against the better teams (a JWM contribution)

It still rests in our hands

If we got the equivalent number of points from these games last season we would get 3 points

and finally........

We are not Ipswich Town*

Please add some more.

*also known as the Binners, Binmen, Ip5w1ch, Portalooers, The Blues (original), The Tractor Boys (perjorative term although they fail to realise), **** of Anglia, Manure Chewers, Mick McCarthys Blue and White Army, The Chimps Down the Road and Marcus Evans all-star White Elephant

Another few million goes into the bank even if we finish bottom

Sunderland will finish bottom

Henderson suspended for the next game

Hazard injured

Vincent Tan isn't our chairman

If we got the equivalent number of points from these games last season we would get 3 points

I've added the Hazard and 3 points point, I would rather Henderson play and V Tan is not really relevant so they are omitted

It won't be long before you change your strip, so anybody with v.wolfswinkel printed on the back could get a different name printed?

Wow. That is some come back.

The only printing going on in Ipswich is phoney bank notes when the loan sharks come round asking for Marcus Evans.

Anyway, this is the positive thread, we don't want to be talking about the suicide inducing Ipswich Town.

Great come back Carrabuh nearly as good as your lot against Fulham.

JWM, you would be oblivious to a good comeback even if Bill Clinton knocked on your door dressed as Arnold Swarzenegger and stapled a poster advertising the World Snooker Championship Final of 1992 to your forehead.

I wouldn't say I was an optomist.Prior to the Swansea game it just made sense that we would stay up.That game WBA and now Fulham has changed that.It was West Brom really that did the damage.I have long felt that we would get something from the last four games but realistically we now need three points. The most likely game for that is clearly Arsenal with a cup final the following weekend.I cant really see Fulham beating Spurs but let's face it almost anything could happen including Villa getting no more points.Having said all that I think we are going down now.

Good thread carrabuh and my glass will remain half full until the final whistle on May 11th!!!!

CT - I actually felt embarrassed watching the game against West Brom and that was a game we could easily have won and made our bid for survival a lot easier. I expect us to pick up some points over the next few matches and for the me, we could easily have beaten ManUre at home had Hoolahoops looked up and seen Hooper standing on the other side of the box unmarked instead of going for goal himself.

I'm still going to be an avid fan whatever division we're in and I'm sure the vast number of contributors on here have been supporting our team from the dark days of League 1. <cheers>

great thread, can we have this pinned to the top till the end of the season?, the less negativity now the better, the more positivity the greater the atmosphere will be for the last two home games, 12th 'man' please step forward
