Eric makes another valid point because by Xmas teams with ghe best goal difference usually end up in the top 6 by April. Seen Derby, Wendies, Reading in recent times being nowhere at Xmas but have a positive goal difference and go on a run. If I was a brave betting man I would have a go at predicting top 6 in December, wonder what odds?
Yes it’s true doc. But that’s not the point he’s making. He’s just making fun of this idea. But I’ve noticed it too, you can get teams lower down with good GD who seem to come through stronger later. Not sure how good the correlation is. But I think Eric is just taking the piss, on the lines of ‘teams who score more goals than they concede end up winning the most games’ or’we have a plan to beat team x, we are going to score more goals than they do’
I love that term 'On paper' because it gets used in football too much and doesn't do justice to what people are trying to get over. So far this week i have seen a few references to 'on paper' Leeds Utd have an easier September than August. Yes that me true 'on paper' but unfortunately I predict a harder month or so, in fact the next 6 games could be crucial to our season. Firstly proving that last seasons great start then collapse was a one off. But secondly because the next 6 games all have a edge. Milwall will be the usual war and always a hard place to go for us and they never make it easy and usually get themselves a result. Preston will also be a war because they humbled us a couple of weeks ago in the cup and there will be a bit of revenge in it to spice it up. Birmingham have the Monk element and big club Birmingham mentality. Pep Clotet knows how to get under the skin of Pontus etc... Wendies is a local Derby and spiced up by the Kirkland/Jones fiasco. This will be war Hull have parachute money but not doing too good at the moment, but a local derby adds spice and of course there is history with directors back and forth (Adam Pearson) Brentford 'On paper' is the only top team and to be fair they are upsetting opposition week after week with similar Bielsaball Its deffo true that if we come away with all 18 points we will still be top of the league and by a margin, but how confident are fans after analysing history of previous encounters. Just hope Bielsaball discounts everything.
What I've found for absolute certainty is that the teams with the most points are highest in the league. Funny that!!!
Thanks for that No need to stay, we’ve already got someone who can crack hysterically funny jokes like that
That's a shame that I am not welcome. I ghost around here a little and quite enjoy your interactions…..and you have to admit, the debate was asking for such a comment, even f it is tongue in cheek.
My comment was also tongue in cheek and aimed not at you but the amazingly funny Eric le merde. You’re welcome as far as I’m concerned.
If you're looking for a carer, you're looking on the wrong page,we've got one incontinent taff that visits already.
Ben Pearson will have to sit out the next three matches after Preston chose not to appeal his red card against Bolton (we’ll be one of those matches).
