You have to feel for McIlroy. Tee to green he’s better than most but putting just not going for him. Won the Scottish Open last week but missed loads of shortish putts over the 4 rounds. I wonder how much of his putting woes are technical and how much is between his ears.
Same for Tommy Fleetwood as well, man should be winning every other week with his ball striking, he just looks a bag of nerves when he gets in around the greens. Couldn't buy a put today and made no inroads towards the leader, Harman started shakily but was easily allowed back into his stride as no pressure was being applied by Fleetwood would would Fleetwood. Well done with Harman Redcgull she's all done and dusted for another year.
So it’s not a complete procession it needs one of the 8 players at -5 or better to shoot a 63. Would at least keep Harman honest.
Glad you had a great day Chan, some great memories to store for future conversations and flash backs... And yes, they do know how to charge don't they, mostly for tat with the Open logo on it, but pay through the nose for...!!!
Well, Harman gave me a fright when going +2 over after his opening 3rd round got under way but he showed us why he is one of the most under rated golfers on Tour with his excellent golf knowledge and tactical way of playing. Long way it reign, well until 7:30 tonight anyway...
Well done Red. Great pick . A few threatened to come out of the pack early on but couldn't sustain it.
When a course is all about golf management and how to plot your way around a course then it brings in a lot of the field and the less power packed hitters we see week in week out on the Tour. So glad obviously with my pick, but over the four days of golf we had just played like he was in his back yard and knew every twist, turn, hollow, rat run and pot hole that the course lay out before you. Some of the other golfers just didn't seem to learn from their mistakes and it was a joy to watch the wee man from Georgia play his way round a wonderfully set up Links golf course... Oh, and I won a bit of money from it, so happy days...!!
Sorry a bit late in replying but got to congratulate Red on his early analysis. Hartman was super and his putting over the 4 days was awesome. mine of the few to find a bunker on the 18th on soggy Sunday but he whipped it out and holed the putt. A worthy winner and a financial reward for you Redcgull, congratulations
