There's a difference then between what people are saying "We can't compete" and what people are doing "We won't compete".

    That's the difference.

Some kids at school will get the £150 Nike Air's because their mum has got them from the catalogue and paying £5 a month for them and other kids will have a pair of Puma trainers because mum only spends what she can afford, others will get Lonsdales because their mum is a tight bitch who spends all her money on herself.

There'll be kids who have saved for the Nike's themselves and walk around feeling like they've earned them <ok>

I think we have always been scared to compete. Keegan and SBR years aside, we have always just been happy to plod along. That is criminal. We have one of the biggest fan bases in the country, much like our neighbours down the road. We have foundations to be a massive club that could be a global financial powerhouse and successful on the pitch. Yet, we don't take that step.

The funny thing is, you're one of a few clubs with an identity that would attract overseas admiration and we all know where that leads to. The Chinese/HK crowd, they love attacking football, they would never be interested in United now under LVG if we hadn't already locked them down.

Newcastle fans refuse, and rightly so, to watch slow and boring football (why would you pay for it?) so you've got the foundations for global branding, but your owner has up til recently been reluctant to deal with anything other than peanuts.

You were bigger than Everton a few years ago, there's no way they'd compete with you in the transfer market, now it's a complete role reversal, they've left you behind, in the old Tortoise vs Hare scenario.

You'll get there I think and I think you've got the right man for the job to take you there. Fergie was pulled to bits at United before he got going remember.

Sky put their prices up because they pay more for the license, what the sky price was 15 years ago to now has not only changed because of inflation, but because they are paying more for the product that they are selling, therefore so is the consumer.

Sky would fall into that catagory of "Someone Very Rich" and I think I know how business works mate.
