Possibly the noisiest - definitely the most intimidating. They kept us in the ground for about an hour afterwards while the Old Bill cleared the streets, we knew the 657 were waiting for us outside, and we could hear sirens, chaos, breaking glass; the sound of our singing must have been driving them mad <laugh>

Tbf it’s still passionate when we play that lot, probably because we are so rarely in the same division. Last time at St Mary’s in the Championship, they equalised in injury time and we could still hear them singing when we were half a mile from the ground and they were still in there.

I was referencing the Lawrie quip, just unsure of his exact words.

At The Dell, all the 77/78 season, when we got promoted from the 2nd Div. Ending in a goalless draw vs Spurs, that Brighton fans will still tell you was a fix.

At St Mary’s, the 2nd season in League One, culminating in a 4-0 win over Walsall.

    Walsall was 3-1 wasn't it?

Reckon Norwich in '05 was louder but might have been where I was quite young still.

First derby at St Marys up there too.

Yeah, think the 4-0 was Coventry; both great days.

Spurs in the Cup, Jan 2003 was a bit special too, despite only about 24,000 being there.

First Derby was the one when Marian scored? Very emotional, that.

Pompey in the Cup when Lambert equalised (before the gulf in class finally told) <ok>

Nah the Pahars was one was a few weeks later in the league mind that was special too

The league cup tie where Ted's silence had to be stopped less than half way through due to them lot interrupting.

    Beattie got both iirc.
