Spurs need a real top top finisher to take us that extra yard, we create plenty of chances but we miss more than we score. Adebayor has been good but has missed a hat full of chances, both Defoe and VDV are more clinical but Ade offers a lot to the team.

VDV is our most clinical finisher.

If we had a Linekar or Rush type we would be cooking!

Weve been wonderful to watch so far, but still not title contenders yet for me. We may be soon though

What a load of balls!...you've forgot something...are both Mancy sides going to chuck the Roodopa Lg?...you will not be picking up points at the same rate playing Thursday, Sunday and Mondays, it will throw you, I don't care who you are. <ok>

If we are serious about the title we need to get a very good result against both manchester clubs.

Man Utd are our bogey team and we never manage to beat them! Last season was a close affair at WHL so I expect more of the same

Man City have the bonus of Adebayor not playing against them so I will wait to see how that affects our overall play

So you're completely dismissing the Europa League as a distraction, your fixture list will be being altered as we speak to accomodate this. I'm surprised at your contempt.

Why do you think Defoe is a more clinical finisher than Ade? I can't see it myself.

If Man U and Man C keep their current form I agree we won't catch them. But another way of looking at it is that if Spurs win our game in hand, beat Man U at home and Man C away and Man U get a draw at the Etihad, then we just need to do exactly as well as the Man duo in all the other matches. On the basis of the last 15 matches we are doing better than that.

Err! rewind to you crowing "yes we're great, with 12 injuries!"...here's the flip side, you don't have enough players left to a field totally separate team, a good number of your remaining fit players will play every game, or be pushed to. FA Cup starts soon, aswell as EL...hope you don't get a replay!...you know best though eh! :D

I don't know why you're avoiding my point, I'm not referring to priority, more the available number of fit players and your playing week being shifted Thur, Sun Mon.

As for points, I create more threads than you....do not put that right, on this board! :)

Handicapping? Utd have been buying success pretty much since the PL started.

That's certainly relevant to more recent times. To be fair, the heart of the team of the 90's and early 00's was The Babes Mk 2. Scholes, Giggs, Beckham, Butt, The Neville's.

And we all know why Man Utd's youth policy was so successful back then, don't we?

The same David Beckham who was a member of our school of excellence, but one day got lost on the way to training and found himself in Manchester at the exact same time that Manchester United had accidentally drawn up a contract with his name on it?

Giggs was with City's school of excellence, whilst we're on the subject...

  16. Fergie isn't good at making players; he's good at nicking players off other clubs and putting them together in his own team.

Mind you, I think Harry is cut from the same cloth, if the truth be told.

The host of West Ham youth players that Redknapp brought through from their academy is testament to Redknapp's ability to produce a player, HIAG.
Others give all the credit to Tony Carr and he's definitely deserving of a lot of praise, but who have they produced since Redknapp left?
Some capable players, here and there, but nothing like the Ferdinand, Lampard, Carrick, etc. era.

Fourth would be great as far as I'm concerned--though, in my twisted thinking at least, the best chance for fourth (at least) may be third. Spurs have got squad depth for fourth, but not enough for the title--which is too bad, I think, because the starting 11 is good enough this year.

Manchester United have always bought the title. Do you honestly think that if Ledley King had stayed fit, he'd still be playing in white? Of course not! King would be Rio's (30m from Leeds) partner in the Man U defence. Look at Berba and Carrick for instance, if we'd have kept them, I'm sure we'd have reached this point (being in with a genuine shot at the title) a lot sooner than the 11/12 season. United always had the income from being a brand name and a bigger statium than anyone else, so when they saw a player they wanted playing for another club, they just shook a load of cash at him and he jumped ship. Now there are teams with sugar daddys and other teams that have caught up by grafting ie Spurs, the playing field is levelling out and we, Citeh and Chavski are now able to compete on a regular basis and the Goons would be challenging too if they had a decent/sane manager.

And please! LdL, don't be so bloody naive about the signings of Backham and Giggs, of course they keep shtum. <slap>
