Sort of what I stated Marko - both Clayton and Howson are the type of player that are needed alongside the number 1. But if we lose players of their calibre and do not replace them with players just as good, the number 1 would not make the difference that is needed.
Aluko? No chance!! He will end up in the Prem or in Europe. Our signings will be more of the Pearce mould, Championship players rather than Prem players. No budget to sign players from Prem, even those from relegated clubs. I would love to see Yakubu in a Leeds shirt but that won't happen. The one good thing about Colin is he really does get his signings right, and he will have a looooong list of players he can get in on a budget.
Colin is going to get the same tired bullshit from bates as everyone else does. What I have just read confirmed my fears that bates does things that don't make financial sense or business sense just because he's a twat and he's like that.
I'm chuckling to see that you think Aluko wouldn't play in the Championship. Most people in this forum seem to think the Scottish Premier League is the equivalent of League 1. I think these people must be confusing the Scottish Leagues with the Irish Leagues. Personally, I'd love us to sign Aluko, but suspect you may be right about his destination - he's that good! We can always dream .....
Basically those who spew the drivel about the Scottish League and SPL have probably never gone further north than Durham and no nowt about the game up here, you take their thoughts exactly as they should be taken, as pure utter pish. Snoddy came to Leeds from a poor Livingston, who were in the Scottish 1st Division at that time, he was a decent player at that level, but had some attitude problems, Leeds have made him into a cracking Championship player and now Scottish international, Aluko has a great attitude and is actually a better player than Snoddy, I know I'd have Aluko in my team anytime. I reckon he will join an EPL team, if not one of the teams coming down from the EPL this season.
Celtic and Rangers as they are would both be competitive in the Championship, but the majority of the SPL is League 1 standard at best.
