I personally know that population is the main factor. Do you seriously think that the likes of Bristol, Lyon , Canbera or even a large city like Detroit could sustain or have the infastructure for a modern olympics. Even Hull got rejected for a handful of world cup games because of hotel rooms. Its the bigger the better i think
