it is interesting, i appreciate gender is fluid for many people but when you get into sport with something like this it goes beyond an intellectual thing or way of thinking about yourself and becomes biological and physiological for a case like semenya, her bodily composition is very masculine, it's not just that she feels like she should have been born a man like some women who have otherwise 'normal' female biological genetics and physical characteristics
the fact that nothing was said by commentators during the race speaks volumes about the obviously dodgy situation and edginess around her being there
i wouldn't have her in the mens or womens, she'd just have to not be an athlete ... i understand her situation and don't have any prejudice or issue whatever with people like that, it's obviously not her fault she was born like that, but there's no fair fit for her in sport, put her with women and she always has a massive competitive advantage, put her with men and it's not enough and you'd get people saying it's unfair and discriminatory, too much for her ... choose something that isn't sport is what they should've said to her
