I did notice Jong that the German cycling squad seems to be getting a lot stronger. I think they might surprise a few people in London.

"American Football for Christ's sake, who in hell would be playing them?"
    The Beach Volleyballers?
    Good morning, Cyclonic and Jongleur!

"Throw your balls in the air, said the jongleur,
    Very merry men are we,
There's none so fair as can compare
With the Olympic Beach Volleyballer's varsity!"

PS. Sorry about that- pretty pathetic!

I have to say Tam that I like women's beach volleyball. Those South American players are easy on the eye.

Women's beach volleyball is a lot better than men's beach volleyball. I will grant you that. <cheers>

Hi, Cyc. What you doing over there in Aussie? Anything exciting happening?
Over here the dry early Spring weather has turned with a vengeance- cold, wet, and withering.
Apart from that - and the politicians telling as many lies as James Murdoch- things are much the same.
Thinking about it, I've got an idea for an Olympic competition....
Everyone has to guess the highest price that a 100 metres final Olympic ticket will be sold for on E-Bay.
I shall donate the winner's prize......
A beachside seat for the final of the Beach Volleyball Competition!

PS. Lord Coe has promised me one- provided I apply 80 times on-line!

Weather is starting to get a bit cooler now Tam. About 24 during the day mid teens at night. It's nearly 6pm and the sun went 30 min ago. Pretty soon Persephone will take her seat alongside Lord Hades.

Zen, Cyc...I knew sex would creep into it somewhere. Remember the female Russian athlete, Tamara Press? Wow! She'd show them how to crack walnuts- with or without wearing a thong!

Oh, Cyc! No! No! No! You've just put me off my breakfast. Have you noticed that their "thoracic expansion" is inversely proportional to the development of their biceps and quadriceps?
It's called the BMST Law (Bigger muscles, smaller tits).

Bloomin heck cyc... dont know about cracking walnuts but they look like they could crack diamonds between there glutus maximus...!!! And still look like they were enjoying it...<yikes>

As for the Olympics i cant wait but i do also hear the comments on what sport should be in the Olypmics and what shouldnt. As some plainly should not be entertained at this event full stop. They dont need the exposure...

Athletics is a must and though the marathon bores me it was prob then main reason for setting up the Olympics in the first place... But what has happened is that it has turned into a sponsors dream and a fixture or eventing nightmare for the hosts... Somewhere along the line the main sponsors wanted more and more of there high profile earners on what they thought was the biggest stage available. Hence the Dream Team of basketball players from the good ole U.S. of A. and then the world of tennis got involved thinking that they were missing out, Steffi Graf won gold for example. But the IOC should have said no you cant come in but as we know greed took over and now they accept all sports. Beach volleyball, golf, tennis, football the list goes on shouldnt be anywhere near the Olympics but they have been accepted to keep the Olympic flame still flickering.

I do have tickets to for the Olympics, the weightlifting as it happens, and although we tried for other events it was a lottery as to what you got so was the demand for tickets to the 'big' events. Im not upset by this as i do actually like watching the weightlifting, though looking at cyc's post so is he...:emoticon-0115-inlov

What i will say is that until it is streamlined, which wont happen in my lifetime, then its always going to have these events that will detract from what the Olympics was originally done for. The likes of golf being played is a joke. If the golfing aurthorities want to promote golf in Brazil as they have said, thats why were having this sport in the next Olympics, then do the work yourself and put on your own event. Dont hijack the Olympics...!!! But that goes for a lot of the sports...

Im looking froward to them but some sports will get more attention than others...<ok>

Gotta love that pole vaulter Ste. You can have your Miss Worlds etc, I'd rather have a svelte athlete panting after me.

Red, you're quite right, I do like the weight lifting. <ok>
