Dan: Interesting comment. Did a bit of cricket umpiring long ago, kind of dodgy pastime at school, especially after giving one of the older guys 'out'! Liked the 'teas' in the afternoon break, so it was all I could do to get involved as I was a lousy cricketer!

At last now this should shut the media up. Forget empty seats (there's not that many, it happens at every games and they;re trying to sort it out), forget the fact that we didn't win the first gold untill day 5 (even though in reality there was only one that they thought was nailed on), forget rows over who sings what anthems and just get behind the team. It's going to be 100 years before we get the chance to host it again so let's make the most of it.

Just watched some boxing. Disgraceful officiating. The Algerian was well in front but in the last round he went to the floor at least 4 times and the referee kept telling him to get up then giving him time to recover with the clock ticking away. Despite the hammering he got in the last, he lost the final round by 12-10. Needless to say the decision received well deserved boos from the crowd. The commentators felt the Algerian should have been disqualified.

Oh dear, another farce in the boxing. Again terrible officiating and booed. Boxer disqualified and refuses to go near the ref for the announcement. Goes over to congratulate the opponent's corner and promptly leaves the ring in protest.

And as I type, the next fight is a walk over. Don't know why but it all seems a bit chaotic.

Fingers crossed at the area I am working in they will be watching the dressage. SawmTeam GB stike gold when I arrived for my first shift.

Went to the fencing on Monday night and saw the match with all the controversy - Korean was very hard done by and should have won the semi. I have to say that I hope never to see such an ungracious participant as the German who was declared the winner of the semi - most of the crowd felt justice was done when she got beaten in the final.

I might see some of it but I have to go outside very shortly to help Amanda prepare for the weekend. Probably won't get to see much at all today. Probably end up watching highlights.

Huge day at the velodrome. The women's team sprint sees the clash of the great "enemies" Pendleton v Meares. I can't wait for them to go head to head. Remember that Anna dumped Vic on the track at the worlds earlier this year. These women don't like each other.

We've picked up a gold in the trap shooting and a silver in the judo too. Not a bad day at the office for Team GB!

Watching the post-match interview with Peter Wilson (shooting) was emotionally charged. As the interview came to an end he spotted his father in the crowd, yelled "Dad!" and they fell into each others arms <wah>
