You mistook my point bbf, I meant I was on a rant and the plazzy hull fan from filey(wherever that is)snapped me out of it.
Was taking the pish anyway, we were complete **** at the KC here, the noisy neighbours goal difference 26, united 4
I was there when we beat Man U 2-0 in the old division 2 the season man u had been relegated.. Plazzy indeed.....cheeky git
Liverpool will finish 2nd Man utd will finish 7th We will finish 15th Bed time Have a. Good day. Everyday
I think we can. Missing the CL for one year won't be a big deal, any more than that though and it would become a problem. It's a combination of both Moyes and the players obviously, he is taking over the biggest job in football. At least the biggest one where the manager isn't changed on a regular basis, and that will take time, simple as that. Anyone (glazerfodder) who thinks you just walk in and carry on as it was is plain stupid. The players are used to working for someone else, simple as that. There is BOUND to be a lull. This one is bigger than I suspected but we just have to get our head round the fact we will not finish top four and plan and build for next season. Get rid of the deadwood and bring in new faces. Of the current sides above us we won't catch City, Arsenal, Chelsea or, I believe at the moment, Liverpool. The rest we can easily overhaul in time with a few new faces and the getting rid of some others. Ulitimately I see us competing wth City, Chelsea and Arsenal for the top three spots next season and we buy correctly are back in with a chance if winning it. This season, forget it. We won't even catch Liverpool.
Well said Ruff, I agree with it all, except the catching Liverpool bit. That is entirely possible, some might say likely even. But I get why you would not be saying "oh we will", nothing is a given atm I guess but most Liverpool fans with a bit of sense will not be saying we are definitely going to finish top 4 or ahead of United with absolute certainty. The issue for me with both teams is that both without two particular players in either side are fairly average almost, yeah one or two other player in either side how some worth but not consistently enough, both have players that can have great games but also very poor games and the depth of both quads is lacking.
Don't kid yourself. You're a PLC that relies on massive sponsorship deals & worldwide merchandising. Do you think your sponsors would be happy with a year that their name wasn't getting the global exposure that they signed up for via the CL? Do you also not think that the contracts would have a provision should the unthinkable happen & you didn't qualify? i.e. that you'd receive a chunk less revenue..... Moyes fate will be dictated by your share price. If the market gets twitchy as a result of it looking likely that you'll miss out on a CL place, then he'll be taken out the back & unceremoniously shot.
Hasn't stopped Liverpool for the past four years. Pretty sure they've boosted their sponsorship by a lot over that period despite not having the CL, or even Europe, for most of it. We'll definitely lose out on some bonuses and broadcasting revenue, but the bulk of the deals will be fixed. And with the new Chevrolet and BT deals the impact will only be about as bad as in the 2011/12 season. Obviously not ideal, but we bounced back from it well before.
Liverpool have added sponsors, but the level of revenue generated will ultimately be dictated by their on pitch performance, with CL being a big factor in the size of the cheques handed over. Also, they're not a PLC so the pressures are different. Their revenues dropping doesn't affect anyone outside their boardroom. Yours tumbling would see your share price drop & would prompt action imo.
Aye the level of revenue will definitely be affected, but more from a broadcasting point of view than a revenue one. It's the TV money that makes the CL important, rather than the relatively small bonuses from sponsors. The Plc part is a bit misleading - the Glazers still own 90% of the shares and control 99%+ of the voting rights so it's really a Plc in name alone at the moment. If the share price falls then investors can exert pressure, but that would come in the form of director appointments rather than direct intervention at manager level, and would be limited by the lack of voting rights. The decision to sack or not sack the manager would still be the job of the board, which will still be controlled by the Glazers, same as Liverpool being controlled by FSG.
I understand that mate, but the mere fact that it's a PLC means that the pressures are different, as a falling share price would make the owners tetchy & far more likely to take a dim view of on pitch stumbles. Moyes simply can't afford to go into 2014 without being within touching distance of the top 4 imo.
Don't honestly think it would make them more tetchy than as a private company. Either way the owners will see the value of the club move, whether it be on the stock market or as a private company, so there really isn't a difference unless there is plurality of ownership, which is manifestly not the case at Utd. If 35%+ of the shares and voting rights were listed it would be different as the minority shareholders could hamper resolutions and pressure the board, but right now the external shareholders are nothing but noise. Moyes' position will obviously be vulnerable if we're nowhere near the top four come season's end, but that would be the case even if we were still a private company.
haha, Moyes is losing it, what did he expect? the egotistical ginger weapon http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/d...on-defeat-called-former-fans-a-fing-disgrace/
