I agree in as much as they could have condensed and made it better but with it being where we are now they need 2 to wrap it up. If they don't do that it could go downhill fast.
If someone decides to watch a show, and they start on any episode other than season 1 episode 1, then they are a ****, to put it mildly
@moreinjuredthanowen Season 3 was Hamsterdam. Season 4 was about the school system. Yes the wire was immense
Ah thanks. yes whichever my fialing memory was where the geeky guy ended up as a school teacher... I was not engaged by it.
was my favourite season that one. Showed how the corruption in the school and policing systems mirror'd each other. The police juking stats to show good arrest records, the teachers teaching the tests rather than actual math to the students, to juke the exam scores.
I actually enjoyed the school. I felt it was a very realistic appraisal of the influence of school and upbringing on people turning into gangsters. No matter how innocent, well intentioned or troublemaker you are, there are a few moments in your life that will either lead you to a path of drugs and criminality or you will live your life as a normal law abiding citizen
Ah yes, that part was awesome too. So all these stats we get from the government from NHS waiting times to Police crime stats etc etc i pretty much just take with a pinch of salt
Agreed, and the child actors were phenomenal. Michael, Namond, Randy and Duquan. Michael you could see was a good kid, but a victim of sexual abuse and his mothers drug taken, which hardened him against those who tried to help him, like Coach Cutty and Mr Prezbo. Namond was living in his father's shadow, since his dad was Avon's No.1 hitter in the Barksdale Drug crew, he yearned to impress everyone around him since he felt belittled and imasculated by his fathers reputation and his mother's over bearing nature, which is why he picked on Duquan a lot but you could also see deep down he was a good kid. Randy was such a smart and enterprising boy who got chewed up and spat out by the system. Miss Anna, his foster mother, was his last hope at becoming a normal young man, but the circumstances surrounding him being outed as a grass and Miss Anna getting burnt were horrific, I felt for Carver so much when he was trying to adopt the lad and kept hitting brick walls. Seeing him all hardened and stacked in season 5 in that boys home was heartbreaking. Duquan was tragic, such a sweet kid who came from nothing, degenerate dope fiends for parents who would steal everything from him, even his clothes, he walked around in rags, smelling like a sewer, and again, watching his descent to heroin addiction and him eventually ripping off Prez in season 5 was heartbreaking.
These days yes. But if you only saw it on sky without catch up or buying a box set for big money? Even say you didn't have smart tv 2 years ago. Just sky + you might only see latest season of anything on catch up then say yeah I'd like to see more They've done that at home with several (****)shows I have been taking great delight recently spoiling greys anatomy for a 16 year old who started season 1 by saying she's dead. Is he dead not in it etc etc. I don't even watch the thing
Cant remember Michael getting sexually abused or talking about it. The child actors were so good and all of their stories just seemed so real that you know that sort of stuff isnt to far from the truth. Only one i wasnt totally happy with was duquans descent i felt it seemed a bit rushed although what eventually happens seems realistic
not remember thats why one of the two soldiers got done for life. he beat the guy to death. what were their names those two.
Ah i see. Doesnt help that i watched it 10 years later and got to binge in all 5 seasons in broken chunks to and from work.
Yeah. It was the girl who was a lad and the other guy who were nailing the bodies in delicacy houses The other guy who I could look up but am too lazy who beat the step dad to death and that's why michael was in the gang in the and ended up the one who shoots the girl. Actually does tie together I suppose thinking on it.
