What they should have done, since Dark Knight Rises and Man Of Steel were so gash, is not made either of them. Make a decent Superman movie, then they should have made BvS the sequel to that movie and Nolan's the Dark Knight, with a decent Superman and Bale's Batman and a coherent ****ing script, with a narrative that made sense, with Nolan at the helm.
Nolan wouldn't have gone for it...he had a very specific plan for his trilogy...he's executive producer on the others as a perk of contract... They've just timed it wrong. They let Marvel get in and build the Base first and had nowhere left to go other than miserable and dark and even then Marvel has nipped in with darker tv series. They should have been brave and gone with other characters rather than batman and Superman again. Now wonder woman is restricted to BvS story arcs as is Aquaman apparently.
Its just a crying shame. I always preferred DC over Marvel, but what Marvel have done with their film franchise is nothing short of magnificent. Spent years introducing all these heroes, with their origin movies, then putting them all together in wonderfully written and directed stories (again, by master Joss Whedon) where as DC's attempt has been rushed, ham fisted and downright droll in comparison. It screams of desperation. My only silver lining is that DC are doing great things with their separate TV universe in Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow. Lord knows why they have created two separate universes instead of making it into one like Marvel but I am glad they did. A new movie flash is pointless, Grant Gustin is great in the show, the show feels just enough like the comic book to make it enjoyable. Arrow is gritty and dark in a good way, without being depressing like BvS and Man of Steel. Supergirl started slow and I wasn't sure at first, but has picked up, and introducing The Flash in the cross over was a smart move, hope it gets a second season. Legends is just all kinds of fun. I love it. Great mix of characters and I love the story.
Do you think it's due to how they sold their licenses? Marvel seems to have an iron grip control on theirs. They should just focus on the series now..make Justice League a series linked to the current series...
Cant be, since the Flash and Superman have appeared in the TV shows AND the movies. So obviously the licenses aren't exclusive. Marvel were kinda guilty in that regard, took them years to wrestle Spiderman away from Sony's greedy ****tard clutches, and I think FOX still owns X-Men.
Obviously not seen the latest one but I think X Men is played out. Think it's why Marvel have concentrated on developing the Inhumans arc.
the xmen films are all utter pants imo, the most recent 2 are just about watchable, the previous and wolverine spin offs have been utter kids stuff.
I kinda dont mind the X-Men movies, they have been handled pretty well. Also I don't mind seeing anything with Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique) and Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Fassbender is also great.
Think Paramount still owns Fantastic 4 aswell. Those were some pretty bad abortions, both the Jessica Alba ones and the new one.
As long as the CGI is done well.... Yeah I've preferred the reboot type ones...Although it's Brian Singer back at the helm for this one..
Yeah...God awful..sat through the latest one waiting for it to kick in then the end credits came up and I went "wait...it's over!"lol
Fox owns F4 and Xmen. The last F4 attempt (failed attempt) was supposed to eventually tie into the X-men universe
Yes it is totally pointless and then you ****s have to go and watch it making it a box office hit so now we have more ****ty crossover pointless films that got shot reviews being smash hits so they will keep creating more of these ****ty films like fast and furious transformers batman vs superman part 3 reboot 10 ffs l
Mate I dont pay to watch movies I have my sources. I certainly wouldn't pay to watch B v S. Last movie I paid money to see was the Force Awakens, and thats purely out of loyalty and respect to the franchise (despite the ****ty prequels). I completely understand what you are saying and agree. The video game industry is going through the same bullshit right now too. All these Triple A **** rags like EA and Ubisoft churning out unimaginative, uninspired, by the numbers, generic **** like Assassins Creed and Call of Duty. All people do is complain about how **** they are (and they are right) yet the next year when another one is shat out, they go and buy it again and expect a different result. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me......In the words of Dubyah "Ya can't get fooled again!" When will these morons realise that as long as people still buy these triple A turds for £60.00, Day one DLC, micro transactions, and still pay £15 to watch these Diaper Taco movies like B v S etc, that the companies making them wont give a **** on how they are rated, all they care about is adding a new wing to their gold plated mansion. And every year they accomplish their mission.
