I quite liked jurassic world. Not normally intuitive the big franchise and easy to watch films but i thought it was quite good. Just started ep 2 of daredevil obviously been a while since i watched it but karen doesnt know matt is daredevil? Also i remembered how irritating foggy is
****ing tragic tbh Im about to watch E13&14 S06 of TWD, i take it its 15 and 16 not out yet? when they out?
Not surprisingly Batman v Superman has been declared a flop by the critics, still it only cost $800m. Love to know how that one was sold to the studio.
So i caught up with twd last night, one thing that really bothered me was when they decide to trade with the hilltop people, instead of going and fighting these "neagan" people because the hilltops are pussies, why diddnt they just poison the supplies that the "neagans" were due to collect, that wouldve killed a fair few of them and no one would risk getting killed? them pick off the rest. Also as good as the show is, its structure is very repetitive, find a place settle some **** happens leave place find new place repeat. I do like the way the group has grown, basically into an elite zombie/bad people killing unit. and Rick and Meshaun? cmon mate you can do better than that miserable cow. her and sasha make me want to kick small dogs and children.
$250m, $150m marketing. The $800m is the cost to the franchise if the film doesn't succeed. The problem is the man they've put in charge, Zack Snyder, he is all style over substance. His stories lack any direction or depth and tend to be one fight scene after another (which was fine for 300), he's just an average director and thats hard to take when the last DC films were made by Nolan. Then there is the mis-casting, Affleck as Batman? (although I hear he's one of the better ones in the film) Amy Adams as Lois Lane? Two relative unknowns as Wonder Woman and The Flash. They're also up against Marvel, who've pretty much got everything right so far, and Fox's X-men, which again have been getting it right every time. If DC had been smart they'd have looked to work with The CW and expand the TV universe into films.
Line of Duty is back on BBC ... anybods watch it? Third series of it now and first ep last night was awesomes ... worth looking for the first two series as well as they are both excellent and some characters from those come back in the new series
Only saw the 1st series, and thought it was very good, diddnt realise there were more tbh Im starting daredevil season 2 tonight anyways so cant be arsed to get anything else on the go just yet.
Maltese Falcon is on tonight on TCM. IMO the best scripted dialogue ever in any film (Glen Gary Glenross a close 2nd). Every character's lines (but particularly Bogey's) are just pure gems. Watch it if you haven't seen it before, it's a work of genius.
Never seen it but i am a big afn of glen garry glenross, me and the other traders used to stick it on while we sniffed coke from the backsides of eastern european escorts, oh how we laughed!
The scene with Rick going out and clearing up Alexandria was a nod to the repetition, they can't continue to do that, they have to fight for their own place.
loved the bit where they flicked between all the characters like a flipchart ending on Rick, great scene.
