Million dollar baby, tear jerking, bit of boxing, morale and humane stuff in it, good flick. Think you lady friend will like it as well.

    Hancock! <laugh>

Book of Eli was pretty good, might not be up her alley but good ending.

What are you looking for by the way in these movies? That might help as well.

Think I have seen Book of Eli, apocalyptic film right?

Open to any suggestions, she'll watch big budget blockbusters, we don't do comedy, don't mind rom com as long as It's funny, nothing depressing.

    ya with Denzel.

Big budget? Avatar? too sci-fi for her on that? What about drama, mystery- Kiss the girls or along came a spider. Morgan Freemon in both. Another one that is pretty good, she might like it gone baby gone.

Maybe 8.0 rating on IMDB is there a bit of a story for the wife?

yeah but way of describing is it's similar to Leon, bit of action, bit of love story(not soppy though) dark & gritty, but not tedious or art for arts sake, and ladies seem to dig Gosling at the moment too.

if you liked the Road you'll like Drive, have you read the Road - good book and the film is pretty close to it.

Rum Diary sucks, I'm a huge fan of the book but was still willing to give it a go but it's utter crap. I like Fear and Loathing so it's not that I don't like that kind of thing.

Fear and loathing is one of my favourite films.. Had a similar experience when the carpet comes to life and people turn into monsters.
