watched episode 1&2 of the blacklist last night, i hope it gets better as im not that impressed so far.
Someone mentioned Robot Wars returning, 6 hour long shows, no start date as of yet. i hope its a bit more "grown up" and by grown up i mean brutal
3 or 4 elbow patch wearing geeks wearing glasses held together with tape aint going to cut it. I loved robot wars but it got dull by the end and they kind of battered most out of the thing so they had too few people contributing to it.
watching old episodes yesterday all the bots look pretty ****e tbh, very one dimensional efforts, hope they get some new ones and don't go back to the old teams it'd better not be on for 6 hours a pop !!
When you had the ultra destructive bots like that one that had the giant spinning disk it basically frightened off a lot of guys as the people running it were happy for the no hopes to be torn apart
Wanted that little red one to win at the end as it was pretty cool but the big chunky bulldozer ****er got it Was quite action packed at the start with all the bots together like that but a but too much going on until it got down to just a few, they seem to have got much more powerful with the CO2 and hydraulic stuff nowadays
It's a mixture of weight allowances, battery power and budget. If you've got the budget to get the right materials then you can pack more in. Long fights, co2 isn't great cos you lose gas and power before its over. The razor bot was a classy design in robot wars cos it had a bit of art as well as hydraulic crushing. A lot of it is control and driveablity too cos if you can't control the thing you can't kill with it.
Gotham EP 3 done. The way they've done the Joker story is superb. The people doing this obviously know their Batman but are changing it enough to keep it interesting to the fans. **** knows what they are doing who Barbara Gordon though?
Probably my favourite show at the moment. ive watched all the 2nd season but its back on end of this month so not long to wait. Barbara Gordon is well shaggable. also, Joey from Friends has been named as co presenter for top gear with ginger evans, not sure on that one tbh.
Oh jesus. .. joey, sabine schimt and the ging. Ok so joey was well cool on the star in a car thing when he did it but..... Jeez. Sabine did 3 shows. Her first she was fine playing of Jersey. Second she was Meh. .. doing the van and in the third she was nothing in the England v Germany thing I can't see this having any great interaction between them. I think they gone this way to ignore us and sell in those foreign markets Flop...
I assume you mean all of season two so far? Episodes twelve to twenty-four haven't been released yet Heard about Matt Le Blanc getting the Top Gear gig. Been a bit of a backlash from some quarters because he's not British Am i right in thinking he's the first foreigner to be a host?
yes and no. he's the second if you count we knew the german sabine schmitt was on the show. Le blanc did fine on the one show he did. he seemed like this kind of gig would be up his street. however.............. the line up would suggest now that this show will not be even remotely like the past show and that it will be far cloaser to 5th gear than top gear. there's no possibility of the 3 going the adventures of the other guys in the same way. I think it will be a big budget splash (with our tv license fees) with all the top cars posisble and very set in the studio setting. We've heard they are on whatever kind of filming shoot they are doing and the ging is struggling to do the takes. I watched top gear for the messing, not for the cars personally. The bbe might have got this badly wrong. Le blanc i can see having a laugh but who knows. I don't think theres an issue with him not being british, I think he ticks far more boxes than say guy martin would have but evans seems to have missed the point of what it is. Perhaps he can earn back the people who didn't watch the show due to clarkson.
I see it being more of a segment show, each presenter is going to do there own segments about cars, reviews, homages etc. If thats the case it'll be dull, like 5th gear. With there commitments to other work I can't see these presenters doing the adventurers, races or builds. That'll affect any rapport they are supposed to gain and those were the reasons any one watched Top Gear. An actual Car show?! God that'll be boring, I think the beeb have got this all wrong... Not to mention Chris Evans is a ginger tosser
That would be very very disappointing if true. Now evans has dropped tfi friday and schmidt has nothing esle to do bar this so..... theres no real excuse. Le blanc might be at a loose end given the total fee for the year is £650k so i can see him ebing a one year guy and someone else coming in. I do think you are right. I cannot see them fake building a bridg eover the river cock or be willing to be pushed into a river of unknown effluent levels or go to chernobyl. I can see there's a budget and i can see them headed to USA with the ultra super cars. The thing about top gear with clarskon was they got more and more into bangers and special builds as the show went on and it was more baout having a laugh than looking at richard hammond off on his own doing a review of a lambo in dubai etc. I was more fearful they'd go for jodie kidd and guy martin and it'd be dull as dishwater.... sabine schmidt is an odd appointment and clealry they must rate her ability ot drive but putting joey in says there'll be some laughs somewhere in here. If you rememebr the great episodes like the USA road trip with gay love painte don cars or the combine harvester..... well.... who's the buffoon and whos the thick... i can see joey playing the stupid one.. and evans is a bit of a clarkson.. they wante dot femlae the place up... misunderstanding the audience so will schmitt be the james may character?
Definitely not going to be the same but then, we knew that anyway, especially when they appointed Chris Evans. I'll still give it a chance but can't see me watching it for long if its like the 80's Top Gear or Fifth Gear. I like cars but I'm not that bothered by them, I watch Top Gear for the entertainment.
I'm still expecting a third recruit to be a female. Any ideas when Clarkson, Hammond and May will be doing something?
