The Arrow, The Flash and Gotham aren't great, I'd describe them as a naughty treat. Gotham does need to improve though, I'm giving it until episode six With Lost, i think people get too wrapped up in how it started. Its not about how people would survive on a deserted island, its not meant to be realistic and believable. I don't get why people criticise the unrealistic nature of it when they're willing to watching things like Dr Who (time travel), WD (zombies) and even Superman (unrealistic powers). Anyway, we obviously have very different tastes since you like **** like the Office and American Shameless PS...how can anyone claim Lost is ****ed up but like Games of Thrones...?
Because while the **** that happens in Game Of Thrones is fantastical (Dragons and magic and the like), the story and plot make sense, the characters behave in believable ways, and unlike lost, GoT sees plots through and progresses them. **** used to happen in Lost, and it would go unmentioned, unresolved and just hang there, and it would be like "oh, so we have moved on to this....but what about that **** that happened in the last episode, why are more people turning up, why did it just spend half a season on a plot for it to just fizzle out into nothing, Where did that guy go?"
Everything in Lost gets explained at some point but its not always crystal clear. Season three was brilliant for that very reason.
Sounds more like you gave up too soon, as if they hadn't explained something from the 1st ep by the end of series 2 that wasn't good enough for you. Most of the stuff does get an explanation even if it isn't always crystal clear like Gerrez said. And yes somethings never get solved but thats the nature of life, some stuff IRL never get solved either. Even if you don't like it its still rated as one of the highest TV show by alot of the major websites, IMDB has it at 8.6 for example. Lets judge your TV habits, aside from WD and GoT what do you enjoy watching?
My favorite show ever is probably The Wire, followed by The Sopranos. Like Boardwalk Empire too. As far as non HBO or Showtime (ie Subscription cable channels) goes, AMC's Breaking Bad was good, very much enjoyed that and Walking Dead like you said. Going back a bit I loved the first season of Heroes, before it went to **** in Season 2 (damn writers strike of 2007-08). Also liked Firefly, Buffy, Angel (The Whedon shows, though I was a teen when they were on TV).
Can stand the Sopranos and I agree about Heroes, great concept but wtf happened? Was very disappointed about the last season of Boardwalk just seemed to fizzle out and thought the last Episode was poor. But most of thoe have finished some along time ago, anything new you're looking forward too? Also have you tried True Detective, first series was excellent, we'll have to wait and see about S2. Also American Horror Story?
Watched True Detective (see my sig). Loved it. A mate of mine suggested American Horror Story, so I may give that a look as we tend to have similar taste in TV shows. Agree about the last season of Boardwalk, also I weren't too keen on the last season of Breaking Bad either. The Sopranos finale is a big ****ing jerk off too. In terms of looking forward to stuff, not really anything I can think of tbh, except next season of Game of Thrones and Shameless US (which will both be back next year).
I think personal tastes aside [ I'm older and I liked Buffy too but got fed up of all the vampire type series that followed], the storyline and acting has to get you involved, whether it's pure fantasy or crime/real life type dramas. If you don't like the acting or buy into the story then it's failed. Sometimes a great actor can't save a show or a great storyline be saved with poor acting.
Best ending ever. Promised myself I will watch it all in one go when I get the chance, brilliant stuff, can't see series 2 being any good. Matthew McConaughey is the best actor on the planet at this moment in time, they got him at his apex, nobody is going to follow that.

Loved it so much, clever, romantic, visually stunning and great acting. That Leto fella is making a name for himself.
Dont even get me started on the Sopranos "ending" because there wasn't one. Total cop out, stank of David Chase, whose writing had been nye on impeccable for 6 seasons, not knowing how to end the show properly. Probably thought, "If I kill Tony or put him in prison, it will be too cliche, so lets just not do any ending at all......Awesome, lets just make the show end mid sentence whilst he is eating a burger"....... I raged for days.... Yes I know what he was doing......Tony was killed and it went black because the show was from his PoV blah blah........bollocks to that. I dont want to imagine what happened. I want a story set out for me, dont want to watch 650 hours of a story to then be told I have to make up the last hour in my head........
Couldn't agree more. That ending has caused many a #meltdown on line as you hsve the 'he's not dead' crew against the 'He is dead' crew
He was too big a character to kill, did you want that as an ending? I imagine the answer is no, everyone loves Tony despite his shortcomings and everyone would have been pissed of with yet another mob killing end as you say cliche. So what's the alternative, kill his family to show the error of his ways? Again characters we had learned to love nobody wanted that. The tension built up in that final scene was superb the music was brilliant very fitting and funny, there was no other way to end it other than the way they did, I think the writer thought long and hard about that ending. I've read that it divided fans though.
I think and I mean think it was supposed to symbolise that their life goes in in the same peril as always and at some point they inevitably will come to a nasty ending however as fans you don't want to see that so we stop NOW. Fade to black.
Absolute bullshit. I would have preferred literally ANY ending to no ending at all. And no....he died. The conversations about it going black when you die and not knowing anything that he had with Bobby a few episodes prior. If he didn't die, then just cutting black makes even less sense. It was a crime to end such an awesome show in such a despicable way. I would not have cared if he had died or gone to prison. Cliche? Maybe....but he was a mafia don ffs. 90% of them in RL end up dead or in prison.....Total cop out. I would have preferred it if Tony and slipped on soap in the shower and smashed his head and died, or choked on a chicken wing...literally ANYTHING!
That it does Now Angel........Thats how you end a show. Kind of ended similar.....with a cut to black....but completely different...in that we know what the ending was, we knew what was happening.
