    Just watched Insidious 2.

Not as good as the first one, and seems to have left it open for a 3rd now as well with the ending. Wonder if it'll be any better.

I watched the new Inbetweeners movie. Much better than the first. Piss funny in places. You've definitely got to watch it if you like silly movies and / or you enjoyed the series. 7/10 or 7.5/10. <ok>

  6. I enjoyed the series but I thought both films were disappointing

They were both patchy, as films based on series always are*, but the second was far less patchy than the first film was. The series, for comparison purposes, was at least 8.5/10.

*Like Shaun of the Dead. Great film, but, anyone who watched Spaced, knows that SOTD was essentially a film version relabelled, and wasn't as good as the series.

I agree with your original review of IB2, it's much much better than the first, would give it around a 78% rating, above that would be pushing it as it has some missteps. But it could be an enjoyable standalone film if you hadn't seen the series/the series never existed... 'The first time, ever I saw your face' <laugh>

  9. I just got the feeling that they wasn't sure what to do in the films, almost like they'd run out of jokes if you like.

I never saw Spaced so can't relate to the second point.

A lot of people haven't, but they still claim to like Pegg and Frost's stuff. That's kind of like saying you like gangster films, but you haven't seen the Godfather films . . . or Goodfellas. In my opinion the two series of Spaced are in the top echelons of British / Irish Comedy along with such august company as Fawlty Towers, Father Ted, The Young Ones and Red Dwarf, etc. <ok>

  11. I haven't seen all the Godfather films as I got very bored of them. Watched the first, seen the second but interest had decreased, turned the third off part way through. Loved Goodfellas though <ok>

Spaced is/was top. Throw in Big Train, Black Books, Partridge, Peep Show, Monty Python, The Day Today, Brass Eye, Nathan Barley, The Thick of It, Black Adder, Mighty Boosh, Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle, Adam Buxton's Bug, Snuff Box, Jam, Nighty Night, Time Trumpet, Attention Scum (AKA League Against Tedium) to that list CCC

Seen and agree with those in bold, Stevie. I saw, but wasn't a massive fan of, Big Train. Didn't see Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle, but like Stewart Lee and would have added Fist of Fun and This Morning with Richard not Judy.

Still have to watch the others. Decent and fairly comprehensive list, though. #onlyfoolsandhorses

Which one? The Life of Brian, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Meaning of Life, And Now for Something Completely Different? All superb. <ok>

Seems you're a bit of a comedy virgin, Greez. <laugh>

Holy ****, mate! <yikes> Were you locked in an under-stairs cupboard-bedroom for your childhood like Harry Potter?

  20. No, I was outside playing football <ok>

I grew up before kids weren't allowed out. Used to get up, have breakfast, go to the local field, play football all day, go home when it was getting dark, dinner, bath, bed. Repeat the next day. (obvious, school had to fit in too if it were a weekday)
