I'm reading Child of God by Cormack McCarthy at the moment and just noticed that there's a film. Not a great rating but neither did The Counselor so I'm going to watch it this weekend.

It gets silly as it goes on I enjoyed the first one though.

True Detective done, as good as tele gets. Never mind Matthew McConaughey getting an Oscar for Dallas Buyers Club he should get awards for his performance in this.

What do you mean by silly? There are only two series aren't there?

No there's 3 well they are well into 3 at least, I don't want to give anything away but the story with some characters gets really stupid,. I watched season 1 and thought it brilliant but by the end of 2 I was a bit bored, season 3 I watched 2 episodes and binned it.

Agreed, just finished the 3rd season, wont be watching the 4th I doubt.

In terms of current TV shows I quite like the Walking dead, Boardwalk Empire, Shameless (US version, trust me, kicks the Uk versions ass), Vikings.

Of course the daddy at the moment is Game of Thrones. Best TV show ever probably.
Its up there with the best (The Wire, The Sopranos, Breaking Bad)

They would have been better off doing a good job of season 1 making it a bit longer and leaving it as a one off.

True Detecive was brilliant and just the one season was perfect, Heroes season 1 was the same as Homeland but at least you can watch that as a one off.

    Agreed.
So many promising TV shows go off the boil after the first season, Heroes (Awesome first season, Utter s**te thereafter), 24 (Great first season, then a steady decline), Lost (Just became f**ing stupid) and Prison Break (See Heroes).

Been meaning to start True Detective, looks pretty good.

Game of Thrones is the don though, if anyone isnt watching it....start! Its amazing.

Yeah it was good and would probably make the top 10 along with Heroes and Band of Brothers.

Band of Brothers is another one I always meant to see.

Tell me, did you like anything about Heroes after the first season? I thought season 2 was absolutely awful, and the seasons after that only mildly better.
But none of them hit anywhere near the heights of the first season, which I loved.

The last walking dead episode pushed the boundaries a bit. Turned some people off from the show as well in a little review thing that came out on that particular episode!

I'm with you, after S1 it was terrible and lost the plot quickly, rumours of Heroes reborn though, may be good.

I haven't seen it yet, will watch tonight.

It was real in "that" world but some people had trouble stomaching ( is that right? lol) it.

Won't ruin it either but it was pretty gripping.
