Correctamundo Only joking. If you get it for me, I'll pay you. You won't be surprised to learn that I don't know how ebay works!
Been watching some really **** horror movies lately, nothing really good, or at least not the good stuff. What might be your scariest movie you ever saw, could be as a kid or older. For me IT and Poltergeist were good and I do not like clowns because of those movies!! Speaking of might load up IT tonight, Tim Curry was good in it.
I can assure you that the book of It was significantly scarier than the film. I'd probably have to say The Exorcist when it originally came out. I think I was 15 and I went with a mate who was two years younger (they didn't really give a s..t about age then). My mate had to sleep with the light on for three months after that. Also Alien. Watched it at the Odeon, Leicester Sq with a couple of mates. All three of us had massive hang-overs and the cinema was virtually empty. There had never been anything like it before. Still one of my very favourite films. The quality of the acting in The Excocist is also of a very high calibre.
Since the last time I posted, I have watched: Paranormal Activity 3 - The film was okay, lacked any real new scares but generally had a good storyline up until the end, where I found one frustrating ending! It is worth watching but don't too much. A few scares and jumps but generally lacks the tension of PA 1&2. I also watched the film in a cinema in Stoke. Never seen such a s***e cinema in my life, this could be one of the reasons I found it lacking tension.. Final rating - 7.7/10 Favourite Character - Toby Grave Encounters - WOW! What a gem! Watched it around 11pm at night with the family and everyone jumped at least twice during the film! Very good film, recommended for those who love horrors, but this is the first horror where I will add the following disclaimer: Viewers may find some content disturbing and f****** scary! Final rating - 9.3 (Top three horrors) Favourite character - N/A Paranormal Entity - One of the worst horrors I've watched. Poor rip-off of Paranormal Activity, lacked jumps, scares and it seemed the director had something for the girl in the film, not only becuase she was raped by the 'entity' but she was naked twice in the film whilst 'revealing' countless times. (Then again, who wouldn't? See below) Final rating - 4/10 Favourite character - Samantha (Erin Marie Hogan) - Reasons unrelated to acting. RHC, so was looking into some of those classics, ya know the original Psycho, etc. Was Suspiria really scary back then? Watching it now it just seems cheesy, but the score for it was excellent though, probably made most scenes that bit scarier. Same with the Changeling, good movie, but not really that scary.
Dead Silence was on the other day, was really s*** I thought but again the score of the movie was really catchy, made me think I had heard it from somewhere. Candyman was on, good movie that.
What about the two I mentioned? Have you seen them? Rosemary's baby isn't bad either. The Thing is a classic as well
Ya ya I like Rosemary's baby, freaky stuff. The Thing is a classic, can't believe some didn't like it! Better when I was a kid but still a classic.
My two daughters love it and The Exorcist. The eldest one really is into horror in a big way. To be honest, I like all John Carpenter's films, even the couple that aren't very good. The fight scene in They Live is incredible. Assault on Precinct 13 isn't horror, but is brilliant. When the little girl gets shot buying the ice cream, it takes your breath away.
What about Suspiria RHC? I watched it, it was Ok, just seemed very dated although it was supposedly the original slasher film?
Ya I am with you but I think Suspiria is like the first one, really gory and all that, back in the 70's it looks? Maybe 60's? Don't forget Nightmare on Elm St, Freddy Kruegar in your dreams has to be a scary sight and I think the actor (Robert English??) was really good as him too. Plus he f***s up Johnny Depp!!
This is great film for those that haven't seen it -
Where the f..k have you been?. I'm going to be in one almighty mess on Sunday. I'm going to try and pace myself up to the match as far as alcohol is concerned. With a bit of luck, I'll be with the girls for a few hours beforehand, which will help. On Saturday night, there's a halloween night at one of my locals (the one where the landlady dishes the free sambuca) and it's a lock-in for selected customers until the morning, when breakfast is being laid on. God help me. It's a good job you're not coming up this weekend
