I completely disagree. I found BB much more entertaining and creative. BCS is OK, but it's not great like BB was. It feels very drawn-out and stretched.
BB was the first TV series I ever properly watched so I often think I rate it higher than I probably should. Watched loads since but still love BB move than others I've watched. Banshee was quite close though
I suspect you might like Quentin Tarantino too (I don't like QT) but it's the same sort of thing I've noticed in BCS. Take for example the episode I watched last (I'm a season behind because I'm in the US). Hank and his partner spend five minutes discussing the etymology of "Culvert". Doesn't impact plot, doesn't impact character development. Isn't really all that interesting. (They didn't know the origin so it doesn't give any extra knowledge to the watcher). I've noticed a lot of that type of thing in BCS as if the writers have been watching Tarantino's work and decided "what we need is more random mundane chatter that doesn't advance the plot or character development". (I think the idea is to slow down the pace and spread out plot changes... I can't stand it, but a lot of people like Tarantino, and I suspect the people that do, probably like BCS more than BB too). There was a lot of fluff in BB too, but it all served a purpose. Unless the etymology of Culvert becomes important in a future episode, it was just a waste of time in BCS.
I like it when people disagree, the way I see it is that BB would benefit from being a whole season shorter as it meandered terribly whereas BCS is just better writing and the chatter and cinematography are both superb and add to the show.
There wouldn't be much variety on tv if everyone liked the same thing. You didn't address my theory though (theory that people who like Tarantino probably like BCS more and people who don't probably like BB more) Are you a Tarantino fan? And by the same question, does @Zanjinho like Tarantino? I didn't think BB was too long... But I didn't see until after show ended. It might have been a different experience watch the seasons as they aired. I used to love My Name Is Earl but I remember thinking it lasted a few seasons too long... But when I rewatched on Hulu it didn't feel that way anymore. I did think the stand alone movie following Jessie (I think it was called El Camino) was pretty rank though. BB for me. A+. BCS B-. Jessie movie: D-
It's not just tarantino. Imo people are looking at marvel trying to fill in gaps desperately to extend the franchise they have in effect ended or at game of thrones being really popular with character development first 3-5 seasons and falling apart in the final season and a half
