The last ever bond movie was on amazon too. It was OK but too much obvious cgi. I thought it OK but not a top bond film and I saw no real handover to the woman. The thing is of all the other bond endings they never killed bond before. They just blew him to bits so.... well they can't make another bond without just totally changing away from this stream of "reality"
It's much better than the 1980's Dune. It's actually watchable. That said it very much felt like it was all just a setup for the sequel. Didn't really feel like a complete movie. There again it ends right when it starts getting interesting in the book... So sequel should be much better. Think they did enough to stay mostly true to the book (If ending an odd spot) without trying to fit everything in like the 80's one did and messed up.
Would have been better as a TV series. Plus there are more books, so a TV series could have kept going with the next books.
Thought it was ace, 9/10. Very much set up for further films as they work their way through the books.
It would have made a better series I agree... But not many characters carry over between more than a couple books, so maybe they don't sound attractive for tv series makers because of the recasting that would be needed every so often... none of the stories really fit well into a movie length compression
Finished Peaky Blinders last night. Bit of a weird ending tbh. Obviously can't carry on the story going into WWII (why they started immediately after WWI) but can't help but feel there is a story left to tell. On the other side, it's always better to finish with fans wanting more than to drag it out and overstay your welcome.
Is the movie a continuation or set somewhere along the timeline? Spoiler: P I think I read at one point that Aunt Polly is in the movie (but obviously the actress is dead so can't play the role) and also I read that they killed her in the new season, not that I've seen the new season yet. Her part in it, even if replaced by another actress would suggest it not being a continuation.
Spoiler Polly died at the end of season five. We've just had season six. Season seven will be the film.
Spoiler She did? I didn't remember her dying in five. I'm getting old. I just remember articles talking about her dying. I think season six comes out here soon on Netflix, sometime this month, maybe it's out now... I know it was going to be after BBC this season instead of at same time like previous seasons had been.
Spoiler I'm sure she died in the finale but they didn't actually confirm it, just strongly hinted at it. Could be my memory, the start of season six certainly confirms it anyway.
Not sure if I finished the last season. Think I watched the first half and then forgot to go back to it after the mid-season break. I'll definitely go back to it though, it's quality.
