'Midsomer' frankly its abit boring. Don't get the hype, its just a watered down, very slow Wicker Man mixed with Get Out. 4/10
I've watched the whole two series of Narcos Mexico, which is even better than the first Narcos (which was very good). Excellent viwing and so different to the Mexico I experienced 18 months ago Narcos Chapo next, apparently
Yeah its brilliant, far better than the pablo storyline imho. Narcos Chapo should be good of its a thing
Watched all of this over last night and some of today I enjoyed it, it was pretty good overall, but I felt it could've been a bit better Worth a watch though, as you say
The love interests were a drag, if I'm honest. But I loved the (true) fact that the old public schoolboys who played it as a sort of rugby without hands were gradually superseded by northern working class sides who used scotsmen to play mass and move.
The way the game itself changed and evolved from an offshoot of rugby that was still rough and tumble and hard body tackles, into something resembling the game played today was one of the most interesting aspects of the series, but only seemed to be explored in perhaps one episode and was criminally neglected in favour of an exploration of the personal lives of many of the characters which did drag, as you say. I think the focus should have been more on the development of the game itself rather than the personal stuff. The off-pitch politics within the FA and the northern FA and between the mill owners and the towns was quite compelling throughout. I also liked the character development of Arthur Kinnaird, how he starts of as seemingly an entitled and snobbish old boy, but actually turns out to be a progressive.
