Sorry maybe "kiddie" was wrong term...children's movie maybe better.

Things like there being no blood etc to make sure it got a U rating.

As I said...there were a few films during that period that treated kids properly as viewers...knew they could handle darker material. Your fairy tale comparison is apt: fairly tales are actually very dark...often gruesome and have an underlying moral. ...well, until Disney get their hands on them lol.

The fact that Lucas was the first director to insist on merchandising rights tells it's own story lol...

Think they might have been the lucas polished **** fests (streamed but not 100% sure,) but since i never saw the originals i cannot make a direct comparisson.

What i found about the originals was the excitement, the pacing and the characters were pretty badass. Han Solo was a pleasure to watch and i thought the themes were good. it wasn't just about action or trying to be clever which half the films are about nowadays.

Watched Tropic Thunder last night. Stiller, jack Black, Downey Jr, etc...

Was quite good. Better than I was expecting. Had a good few laughs in it.

    Yes loving BF 1

Great game, level 80. After pissing about ive gone back to the very fist gun you start with, Assualt class - MP 18 Trench. Mastered to get the long shots with now as well. Couldnt get on with the hellriegel. Also a great shot AT rocket gun, love taking out one soldier with that

My 2nd fave gun is on the medic class m1907 Sweeper. Had some good success with that

Not bought a COD since Ghosts, that game was shocking. Hate the way they do bugger all about online cheats with older games as well

I mainly use the Gewehr M 95 Infantyy - Level 50 sniper class and about 15 service stars on the Gewehr M 95 Infantry <ok>

But yeah I have 6 service stars on the MP 18 Trench, only 2 stars with the Hellrigel, not that keen either tbh.

I like my planes and tanks, now I've learnt how to fly/drive.

I'm that annoying ****er that chucks bombs on the capture points from the sky <laugh>

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is still ****ing brilliant IMO. The remastered one is worth getting just because the online side of it is still miles ahead of most other shooters that have come out since it was first released.

    Yeah got it, still excellent.

Not on BF1's level though, but considering it was made 10 years ago, no surprise. Brilliant game though.

    How about Infinite Warfare <yikes>

Possibly the worst COD ever, but the newest - work that one out!

    <laugh> So true.

Bought the Infinite Warfare + Remastered bundle for £80 and only played one game of infinite warfare. If I wanted to fly around and run on walls I'd just buy Halo, its supposed to be Call of Duty FFS.

Did like Black Ops, but never bothered with Black Ops 3

I'll have a look again though if they're doing a WW 2 based one for this year

But yeah agree with Sky, BF 1 play, graphics everything is so smooth and graphic

The melee kills with the different handheld weapons are great as well, you can see the fear in the oppositions eyes as you take them down!

The bayonet charges with certain guns are great as well

Indeed, got so many hate messages for using that. I was proper addicted to that game, was in a team with our mics on and directing each other and all of that, we were pretty decent.

Loved the bouncing bettys as well, set up right and they proper covered your arse

My Mrs of then was a trolley dolly so got plenty of time, ah happy days.

Devils Anvil on BF1 is insane.
Verdurn Heights is such an epic map.
