New COD is meant to be based on WW 2, I might have a look after saying I wouldnt buy another one of their games Another WW 2 game out this year is Battilion which is meant to be good, has some great reviews
some trailers give too much away, you've pretty much seen the film, so its good to see random stuff but not know the story. until they release the next two trailers...
its not just trailers its tv shows as well showing you whats about to come before its come if you know what i mean, then just having loads of ad breaks and recaps after to slow it down instead, really ****s me off that
I'm almost certainly going to see it because sons birthday is Xmas time. He loves Star Wars and Mrs. Hates it. Which means I get to take him. I'm sure it will be entertaining but I no longer get hopes up about Star Wars.
I think the problem with the last two star wars films (the force awakens and rogue one) is the female leads are bland. Rey is too good at everything which means you can't get behind her as there is no jeopardy and Jyn is plain boring and miserable. there is no light and shade in her character, she's not given a chance for the audience to get to know her. I don't mean her cracking jokes every 5 minutes but a time where she can talk and explain her story and bond with the main man and us. just my opinion...
It's ok...I don't hate you.... Personally I think we've all got too nerdy with SW....they are kids films....why I like the last 2? They treat kids straight up...bit of comedy...some frights...bit of thinking... We will never enjoy it like we did the first 3...because we were kids....never live up to that standard because....you're no longer a kid... Possibly their mistake is trying both...making us older children happy while trying to capture the new set... Decide...are you niche or **** us oldies and do what you did the first time and make films for the new kids.
Have to disagree. I only watched the first 3 stars wars properly for the first time about 6 months ago. The first 2 are pure genius and brilliant. the 3rd is a mixed bag where there are some epic scenes but the whole ewok stuff was pretty poor. This is my opinion and i havent watched it as a kid
If you did watch it as a kid (about 20 times, like most people!) you'd understand what he means. I couldn't agree more with him. Good films, no where near like they were when first out. My kids like them though, and I'll certainly watch them.
It's all about Battlefield 1 nowadays. I was always a COD player until BF1... Rank 91 and wrecking ****.
Yeah...you are right I was being too black and white...first with non entity actors(bar weirdly the bit par guys...all olivier award guys lol)...stilted script but captured imagination...(score helpedal I think now lol) and so ground breaking visuals they look good now. Out of interest...did you watch the original films (tough to get outside of vhs) or the Lucas over polished ****fests ? RofJ ..truly the worst but sort of my point....Lucas projected them as kids (U rated films) unfortunately for him...Empire was the best...because he did nothing but pay for it...director great...writer great...
But ....still my point remains... Like a lot of the films during late 70's and 80's...lots of hope underlying trusting kids with a bit of fear... War Games Goonies Princess bride ET Etc....what I find funny...is most of these type of films were "U" now ..12..
Ok so... star wars a new hope. 1. Luke is introduced as a callow youth who wants to go off and have adventure. His parents/uncle is tryi g to hild him up. We see them burnt to skeletons and him change in that moment. Compare to 2. See see rey swan about hunting parts, we hear her rather well to do accent... we see her suddenly be able to fly the falcon perfectly and on and on. Imo rorsch is right. Star wars is after all a fairy tale... a long time ago in a galaxy far far away... but its not a kiddie flick. It never was as its a 70s cinema movie and we all underestimate the impact at the time of this. No 7 characters were shallow. The pilot.. finn, rey.... not much chaeacter there..... However.... rogue 1 is different. A bit long and id agree that again the main lead is a bit unrealistic and again far too well spoken but this movie is meant to tie into a new hope in terms of other characters and events. The biggest let down in a new hope is a certain.. lack of evil.. in darth vader and conpetance. Rogue 1 was an excellent effort. The lead and main supporting actor could have been better id agree but it delivered far more than a kiddie movie
They were all rated Universal...and in his own words: "It's hard for people to realize — and I'm not supposed to say this, and I wasn't supposed to say it then — but it's a film for twelve year olds. It was designed to be a film, like, mythology. This is what we stand for; you're about to enter the real world. You're twelve-years-old, you're going to go on into the big world; you're moving away from your parents being the center focus; you're probably scared; you don't know what's going to happen; and here's a little idea of some of the things you kids should pay attention to."
