Finished Taboo, great little series. If there's more keep it short 2 or 3 seasons. Also watched more Big Little Lies, if you're not watching this then you should be, funny, well acted, great story.
Watched Looper the other night. Twas ok. Interesting story and well acted but time travel stories really do my head in. If the younger self has done something important then surely the older self would remember it and not go around shooting the wrong people. If the time line is altered in someway in the past then the future self won't be there trying to kill past people anyway. If you get what I mean. That's why time travel films are dodgy. In the second terminator film the guy who built sky net kills himself about half way through the film, then that's the film done because if he didn't build it the future that makes John Connor the leader is altered. That's why they do my head in...
Finally watched TWD finale this morning. Thought it was good and sets up the next season very well imo. Was a tad obvious what was going to happen. The women group always seemed a bit dodgy to me and we already knew the Kingdom were joining the fight. The Sasha bit was also obvious once she asked for water after saying she'd travel in the coffin (and asking how long the journey would take) but thought it was a good twist none the less. Definitely not the best season, probably one of the worst of I'm honest but still decent imo
Dunno, just seems the whole series was a waste of time. Like the series had been a set up for a big battle/war with the Saviours, then not to get it in the last episode and to have yet more Set up for said war seem like the rest of the series meant **** all. Or at the very least just a long a meandering story that didn't do much, as we already knew where it was all heading from the previous series finale. Overall I thought this series was pretty poor, almost like a whole series of filler episodes in an attempt to eek out more seasons of the show. Could've been done in half the time.
TWD needed to slow down and set up the communities, not the best viewing but essential to the story. Humanity is safer and surviving through small communities, the dead are less of a threat and our group no longer needs to survive on the road. I agree that it wasn't the best of seasons but I don't think it is as bad as some are suggesting. We had the head smashing start, Negan introduced, Rick broken and then back to his crazed self. Not all bad and still a solid series.
The wife bought fantastic beasts for kids. Watched it with them last night. I agree with the forum's opinion. Meh. Quite a dull film really. For all the magic and beasts, they still managed to make it boring.
If you haven't been watching Decline and Fall, get onto i player and get it watched. Absolutely superb. Excellent adaptation of Evelyn Waugh's first novel
It's a murder mystery, starts out with someone dead but we don't know who, it then tells the story leading up to the murder, good performances from the 3 leads and just a really good story. Just a one off as well which is nice but it was always going to be with that cast. Nicely uncomplicated as well for a change, writers always want to make these kind of things complicated but this isn't it's just a well told story.
