I watched the entire incident here on a TV screen in Plaza Major in Palma and everybody fell about laughing at the clash between Suarez and Chiellini. And made no more of the incident. I really do think the episode has been blown out of all proportion. If he is punished then one match ban, equivalent to a sending-off.

Have visited other clubs boards and there is a nasty sense of everyone jumping on the anti-Suarez bandwagon. To my mind that is a witch-hunt!!

With the whole "Evra" incidence I gave Suarez some benefit of the doubt because Evra's fish kept growing, and Suarez was new with us and hadn't acted up before then with us. (Plus, Evra had been found to fabricate similar stories in the past. He told his teammates Suarez said it one time, then his coach "a few times", then the ref "8 times.") I suspect Suarez was winding Evra up rather than is a true racist... but who knows?

Obviously what Suarez said was wrong, regardless of what is considered acceptable in Uruguay. He had definitely been in Europe long enough to know that it isn't considered acceptable behaviour in Europe. Definitely though, Terry and Suarez should have been judged on the same level and punished to the same degree. The fact that Suarez was punished more says something.

Suarez definitely deserved punishing. 8 matches seems harsh considering, Barton got three matches for punching someone shortly before. I think 3 matches for Suarez and 8 for Barton would have been fairer.

All the events since then... I tend to not give Suarez any benefit of the doubt. He does whatever necessary to win, including playing and acting dirty.

The BBC football main page perfectly illustrates #bbcsalford's priorities
    1. Suarez does something
    2. England do nothing
    3. Last minute drama in an actual game of football that matters

Anyway now we get to enjoy another round of thugs and hypocrites waving away career-ending violent assaults as part of the game then claiming a bite is the greatest injustice ever, up to and including the use of slave labour to die building stadiums for a country that outlaws homosexuality but is handed the World Cup by a corrupt vote

There is a picture of Rio Ferdinand fisting somebody on the pitch (can`t remember who it was) that didn`t even make the back pages. Will have to be something much worse to top Suarez <yikes>

Hence all the moral, pious grandstanding on here tonight - what they really mean is "Please, please God, don't let us have to be humiliated in the league against Liverpool and Suarez next season". Cut the crap fellers: disgusting creep in an international match did a disgusting, creepy thing for which he should rightly receive a lengthy international ban. Not one player disciplined and/or banned in this WC will have their sanctions carried forward to their domestic leagues.

My concern is that this actually makes him more desirable for Madrid and Barca, as the only injuries Luis has picked up in three years have been on international duty, and the bi-monthly 16k round trips won't be an issue for some time. Therefore that SHOULD increase his value?

Fans of other clubs know we(fans)can do jack **** in this situation and are just enjoying putting the boot in and fair enough.
Can't see a worldwide ban from all football but Fifa could give him an international game ban.

The ****ing club did say that referring to someone ONCE as a negro, or indeed any reference too skin colour, was wrong, as that is all there is actually any evidence for. United didn't make any similar statements about Evra telling Suarez to go and **** his (Suarez's) 'whore' sister or racially abuse him as a Sudac though.

For match-fixing and drug abuse. Corrupt as they are, they're not yet under the obligation to do what Man U want them to do, unlike the FA, though doubtless SAF was working on that one too.

I said I would if it was shown that 'everyone' had harshly criticised Suarez as was claimed.

This is just one of the 'harsh criticisms offered as evidence,

"Complete madness, its possible he was just wiping his nose on the guys shirt though.
Maybe this will scare any clubs away from him for another season, so all good for liverpool."

Wow, that's really a really harsh condemnation <ok>

Everyone on here suddenly giving it large about Suarez this Suarez that why don't you go on the URUGUAY board where it ****ing belongs instead of trying to lay into LFC who have got bollock all to do with this. It's no surprise as soon as Suarez is taken away from Brendan Rodgers and our psychologist he does something stupid again, we know how to handle and manage him, Uruguay don't, it's their problem, not ours. End of.

I remember you, weren't you the one calling for a worldwide football ban for Defoe? Fair enough.

It's cause biting is a quasi-sexual action, a dirty gesture, and cause we're hypocritical filthy monkeys luving a go.

'u uu uuu uu' squeals and points the excited monkey and wants a circus trial and iron maidens and quartering horses.

Beyond that, a non-tysonic bite is as innocuous as a slap on the derriere. Which incidentally, would also cause a rucus, due to its quasi-sexual nature and the fact that we are, I repeat, all hypocritical filthy monkeys wearily wearing the mask of civilisation.

Giroud, that big insipid French psycho boy, raised and swung his crane of a leg at 60 degree angle and fractured the face of Von Bergen, yet not a yellow or retrospective action. Ditto Wigan's McManaman horrific tackle on Haidara with FA doing a peach of bottle job on the latter. Yet a little nibble offends the monkeys.

Quite right, Suarez was just trying to initiate a bit of foreplay.

Scudamore is already calculating what effect a Suarez ban might have on the happiness of foreign PL viewers

In Luis's hometown of Salto in Uruguay a bite is a sign of friendship similar to the Glasgow kiss or playing tick with hatchets.
Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill.<whistle>
