    Some very good points made.

it is pretty ****ing ludicrous that Suarez would have been better off smashing him in the face or putting him out of the WC with a two footed lunge instead of the bite.

As always i like to question things from the other perspective. Not condoning Suarez's actions or defending him, however, for me questions arise about the usual mass hysteria, the phenomenon of transference. The modernism of football from spectator to participator. A conforming culture bred by tv media and evident in it's social media form like a plague. Suarez would have fitted well into the crazy gang and if as an opponent his actions would have been treated accordingly, with the loss of his front teeth. The biggest mistake the Uruguay player made was doing it on the world stage, because unfortunately for him, unlike the forearm smashes the throat grabs, the studded tackles, biting like a rabid dog is unacceptable, what a strange world we live. There is a known cure for Suarez actions, In the days of Vinney Jones he would have just of been grabbed by the lower regions, but today it's judge and jury by satellite and cable networks. Punishment four months, fair enough, no squabbles with that but like Cantona flying in like a seagull, he is only human. Now I suggest he goes see his psychologist to treat his frustrated childish continued trait, but he is not the worst by no means, at least he's not a murderer still plying his trade.

Worshiping opinion by tv like seagulls following a trawler.

Any psychiatric help for suarez or just a ban and let him play again before he bites someone else?

Tbh if not, the bans pointless.

As far as I know fifas punishment is final. The appeal will either lessen the punishment or the original punishment stands.

There is no facility to increase the punishment. Im open to correction but I was half listening to ronnie whelan earlier and he said Uruguay were appealing because the punishment cant be increased but its embarrassing for them to even bother appealing.

No, he will be directed to just elbow stamp on or headbutt someone in future and take his 3 game ban, he can do it as many times as he likes and will get 3 game bans each time

had he done that he would only miss 9 games instead of 26 +9

    ****ing ludicrous

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12040/9362672 - Gordon Taylor says FIFA has blundered by not insisting on a course of counselling as part of Luis Suarez's punishment.

Football's governing body imposed a worldwide four-month ban on Suarez after finding him guilty of biting Giorgio Chiellini during Uruguay's World Cup win over Italy.

The Liverpool striker has also been fined and suspended for nine international matches, but FIFA's judgement made no mention of any potential rehabilitation.

pretty much, and the fake moral outrage from rival fans as he isnt one of their players.

one even had the nerve to say well you would only lose a couple of mill, wtf more like north of £50 mill, not pennies is it, and in todays sad world where money is the be all and end all it matters a lot.

and we have been done more than luis will have or Uruguay as well. should have been int ban that would hurt the ****.

aye the social media courtroom session started in 2010 against Ghana.

Suarez has not helped himself since then.

It's pretty sad when you have a situation where a player is better off doing what say Keane did. Sad indeed.

Internationally, the vast majority of the games Luis will miss in excess of the World Cup itself are going to be friendlies... or low-key qualifiers. Uruguay is hardly going to hurt from this.

I'm pretty sure they do... but even if not... It's not like he's going to miss any games that count... it's not like he'll miss the South American Championship.
