But Suarez though mate, great isn't it? <laugh>

Stuck with a fella on £200k a week who can't even train properly until the end of October. He won't be fully match fit until the back end of November and no-one in their right mind will take him off you in this window in that scenario.

So you're stuck with him until the Jan window when if you offload at that point, he'll be massively devalued from his peak only last week.

This is bad news all round for you lot.

irrelevant. we all know football is not the real world and drink dirving is not the same as biting.

If you ask if i bit a guy down the pub on saturday night and am up in court for assault should my boss at work sack me.

the answer in that case is he can look at it but I ain't worth 70mil and don't represent an asset on my bosses balance sheet.

And I say again, no player is bigger than a club. Suarez is not Liverpool. Liverpool is a completely separate entity.

What's more important to you, as fans? Challenging for the title, or being a club which is well respected around the world, a club that you can feel proud of? For goodness sake, show some moral integrity

Two things struck me when I heard the news before: why the **** didn't they play him against Costa Rica and he do this then, getting himself banned for the England game? Secondly, you can tell it's FIFA and not the FA under SAF's control ant more, as we don't play United until December after the ban (that one's for you, Tobes).

Seems fair in a grandstanding way that could have seen FIFA pandering to the English media and having him banned for years. The appeal should be interesting, as the punishment is unprecedented (in terms of violent, on-field conduct) and how far (CAS?) the Uruguayan FA want to push it). Whatever, he'll miss this WC, and Liverpool would be wise to keep a low profile and not protest, as the press's next point of attack will be the sponsors of Liverpool, as they did after the reaction to the Evra ban.

As for 'treatment and counselling' .... how could anything be considered as nothing more than lip-service if the guy himself doesn't recognise it's a problem? I mean he did after the Ivanovic thing, and even a few months ago he was saying how he regretted that but not the Evra thing - so how can he now say that 'It is one of those things that happens in football"?

Whatever though, if he stays I can't see him giving a flying **** about any opposition fan barracking and faux outrage (which will rise inversely to the square of the number of goals he scores and wins games is my theory of Suarezility), but he won't fundamentally change.

Still the best footballer to wear the shirt since Barnes, imo, and would have been on course to have a better WC than Ronaldo, and has good as Messi and even Neymar had he not ****ed up again. If only, if only.

You can't blame Uruguay for him biting an opponent ffs, that's a total avoidance of reality.

The player himself made the split second decision to stick his gnashers into him, as he was frustrated in the game, same as he was when he did exactly the same thing to Ivanovic. He did it because he's fundamentally flawed and you knew that when you bought him, as he was serving a ban for exactly the same thing! You're paying the price for sticking by a flawed genius, nothing more, nothing less.

Well no, but I doubt another player would have as much of a track record as Suarez.

how can we do that when fifa have made it near enough impossible for us to off load him now?

we are defending our club because we are taking the brunt of this punishment in more ways than one for something he done in a Uruguay shirt.

wether it be transfer, games he misses for us and wages we still have to pay.

urugauy and luis have got off scott free near enough, so the ones coming on here saying how are we hard done by is laughable.

he should have been banned int level, that would have hurt him a lot, then at least we could still fairly try and shift him on.

Er, yeah, I'd rather he didn't actually. If an otter took Terrry Nutkin's finger, as I'm sure it did, imagine what that anthropophagus man-beaver could do to my poor thumb! <yikes>

    I actually feared worse.

If FIFA were above reproach it would almost certainly have been less imo

Sure you can. You can see Liverpool got serious about managing him better after the last incidence. He's been relatively well-behaved all season. Man-management had done that. His first season in history he hasn't been acting the fool every other game.

Immediately with Uruguay he acts up again. You saw how Uruguay acted. Tried to stop the guy pulling the shirt down. The whole "oh it's nothing". And "Chiellini" is the bad guy. It is clear that Uruguay's whole culture is set up to allow Suarez to get away with it. I'm sure their dressing room has a completely different tone than ours- they seemed to embrace the cheating and be bemused by it.

I was expecting a reply like that, and I have a pre-prepared retort in the form of Izale McLeod. He was a striker for Portsmouth a couple of seasons back, he was our top goal scorer and a fairly decent striker (by League 1 standards). Well anyway, he divided in a match against Crawley to get one of their players sent off, and it was a really blatant dive. We ended up winning 3-0 but it felt so hollow, and from that moment on I strongly and vocally called for him to leave despite being top goal scorer, and I was glad when he did. I do not support cheaters, divers and biters.
